Britain's Top Officer Secretly Visited Israeli War Criminal

MPACUK Comment: Our armed forces should be judged by the company they keep. The Israeli military are amongst the most immoral in the world. They use children as human shields, they kill civilians with impunity, use weaponry illegally and carry out wars of aggression against neighbouring territories. Our government is sending all the wrong signals.

The Chief of the General Staff of Britain's armed forces is reported to have visited Israel quietly last week at the invitation of his Israeli counterpart.

General Sir David Richards met Israel's General Gabi Ashkenazi on September 22 and 23, according to a report by the Israeli daily Haaretz on September 25.

The report claimed that Britain's top commander visited Israeli units making use of “advanced military equipment and briefed senior members of the Israeli staff on British action in Pakistan and Afghanistan.”

The two sides were also said to have exchanged intelligence on the Middle East situation.

According to the report, during Richard's visit, Ashkenazi expressed interest in returning the visit by meeting the British general on UK soil. However, this is an impossibility at present since the Israeli commander fears arrest for crimes against humanity and war crimes if he sets foot on European soil.

The report said that Ashkenazi's visit to the UK would be contingent upon “legal relief” being put in place in Britain and the rest of Europe.

Like many other Israeli officers, Ashkenazi could be facing arrest for war crimes, including the targeting of civilians during the 22-day onslaught against the 1.5 million Palestinian inhabitants of the blockaded Gaza Strip from last December to January.

In September 10, 2005, the former head of the Israeli army's Southern Command from 2000-2003, Major-General Doron Almog was nearly arrested by the British police as his aircraft landed in London's Heathrow Airport.

However, he was tipped off about his impending arrest for war crimes committed by Israel in previous attacks against Palestinian civilians and refused to disembark and returned to Israel on the same El-Al flight.

If arrested, alleged war criminals face being surrendered to the International Criminal Court in The Hague, the Netherlands for trial.

The British defence establishment has mainatined close links with the IDF since at least the 1960's with senior IDF officers participating in a number of activities, even as lecturers at Sandhurst Military Academy. It would be bizarre to imagine that they did not. The Palmach was ostensibly founded & trained in the mid 1930's by General Orde Wingate and the organisational philosophy he established remains a cornerstone of IDF training. Following WW2 many British soldiers were highly sympathetic to the Zionists, having witnessed the horrors of the concentration camps and the violence visited upon Jews in Arab countries. Also many Zionists served in the British Army during WW2. Any student of the Zionist Palestinian conflict knows that Ben Gurion deliberately based the IDF on the British Army. In 1956 the British & French forces collaborated with the IDF.
Whether anyone likes it or not the IDF is also a source of significant combat intelligence and has been at the forefront of developing military technologies. And of course the British Army wants to share in that knowledge, it would be stupid to do otherwise.

It is a shame that Britain has not realised that Israel is the very reason why they are in Afghanistan in the first place.

Looking for an Ally?

The British are bloody pragmatists. So when looking for regional allies they will look for those that are stable, pro-western (British), technologically advanced (so they can benefit),effective in battle (no point allying with losers), secure (don't want shared secrets being sold) and reliable. Also priority given to any nation that might be so powerful that not having an alliance/ understanding with it could be problematic in future.
Now chose which countries should UK ally with;
Algeria, Morrocco, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Israel, Lebanon, Syria, Sudan, Turkey, Iraq, Iran.

What most people do not know is that the RAF flew a couple of sorties against the IAF in 1948 in support of the Egyptian Army which was bogged down in Sinai. Unfortunately three quarters of RAF planes were lost in combat. The lesson did not go unheeded.

Good try but bad logic. Britain should be pragmatic, but sadly the Israeli lobby has ensured it acts against it's own interests.

Israel has technology yes, but that is because it gets the money and the technology from Europe and America. In short they pay for another countries weapons that they then have to buy back at a premium.

What they get for their support from Israel is terrorism, and a Muslim world seething with hatred for something they have not done themselves. Britain is not killing the Palestinians..but it is percieved in the Muslim world it is to blame for Israel doing it.

The same problem is facing America. Of course no one gets to hear this narrative, because Israel calls it anti-semitism and so shuts down debate on the matter.

Israel is the worlds liability, creating tension and a conflict far bigger than the world has ever seen. It will create a third world war, and we will all be dragged into it.

Britain sadly has made a deal with the very devil that will destroy it.

It is a statement of fact not an argument that the British have contacts with the Israelis because it serves the British interests. Imagining that the Israelis are dependent upon EU & USA for technological advancement illustrates how little you understand or know about them.
Morally the British perhaps should not associate with the Israelis, but morality counts for little now or at any time in history.

Not at all, it does not serve Britain's interests. The interests of Britain are hardly to set the world into a polarised mass and ignite the flames of war, because of a little country it (according to you) gets a little bit of technology from.

One billion Muslims could love Britain or hate it, and depends on how Britain treats them, by supporting Israel they became a target themselves instead of stabilising a region and winning the love of much of the world and thus their cooperation.

You need again to look at the power of the Israeli lobby and how it has negatively impacted on British policy against the interests of this great nation.

British Interests

May I suggest that the British government determines Britain's interests via the British government. Not being one of those people that perceives the pernicious hand of international Jewry everywhere, I am of the opinion that it seeks to promote British interests.
Of the 1 billion Muslims to what degree do they as individuals or colelctives offer the British any significant attractive to ditch their Israeli collaborators. As far as the British Army is concerned I cannot imagine what any of the Muslim states have to offer, certainly not professionalism or battlefield know-how. Unless of course you know of such a military force.
BTW I did not state anywhere that Britain has a technological dependency upon Israel. I believe that I stated that it derived benefit from access to Israeli technology = a very different matter.

Pls explain to me how it is that there are any countries capable of independent action, and how is it that we are even aware that the epicentre of the satanic Zionist conspiracy commits war crimes and other offences? Surely the all powerful people (?) control all the media. If they control UK they must control the BBC, and the internet, and the satellites.

No one is saying that Britain, the US or any other country shouldn't ally themselves with other countries that serve their intrests, that is pure pragmatism, no one will argue with you there. But the thing is, you shouldn't cry out "Why do they hate us?" when you the chickens come home to roost.

Britain has every right to ally itself with whomever it chooses. Just remember, when you pick a side to support, there will usually be a side that is opposed to you. You can't expect to support one side of a conflict, and not expect the other to retaliate against you.

Also, I want to close by pointing out how full of Zionism your posts are. You try to give the impression that Britain is not siding with Israel by pointing to a bit of conflict between Israel and Britain that happened over 60 years ago.Not only that, you try to paint it as Britain going to the aid of the Egyptian.

You would like to gloss over the fact that a year and a half before, the Zionist terrorist group Irgun had attacked the King David Hotel. The hotel was the site of the central offices of the British Mandatory authorities of Palestine, the Secretariat of the Government of Palestine and Headquarters of the British Forces in Palestine and Transjordan. The majority of the 91 deaths were members of the Secretariat or hotel staff.

Incidentally, the terrorist group Irgun went on to help the founding of the State of Israel and were abosrbed into the new state by helping to found the Israeli Defence Force, (an oxymoron if ever I saw one, defence indeed, huh!)

You, as a Zionist, would happily try to gloss over this fact and try to portray the British as, at best, being pro-Palestine and at worst being anti-Israeli.

...Ehud Barak, Israeli Defence Minister was in Britain yesterday.

Addressing a "fringe" group at the Labour party conference. Later, he met with the pro-Israeli and Labour Friends of Israel members, PM gordon Brown and (jewish) Foreign Secretary David Miliband.

Lawyers representing 16 Palestinians asked a London court to issue arrest warrants against him. Israeli officials kicked up a fuss arguing that he had diplomatic immunity. The Judge postponed the proceedings while the court asked the Foreign Office to clarify his status. What clarification does it need, he is Defence Minister of Israel, visiting Britain in an official capacity and has been accused of commiting war crimes.

Obviously, the arrest warrant was not issued. It seems like an arrest warrant can be issued against a Muslim Head of State like Omar al-Bashir, but not an Israeli Minister.

WHAT HYPOCRISY!!!

Even though war crimes take precedent over diplomatic immunity and the issue of his immunity should not be considered until AFTER his arrest, this pro-Israeli government let him go.

MPAC is a British organisation, and (I assume) most of it's staff are British citizens, therefore they are perfectly entitled to refer to the British armed forces as "our" armed forces.

Unless off course you believe that the British armed forces are only there for the non-Muslim British, in which case, I can't argue with you.
