Rohingya Are calling, Muslims Turn A Blind Eye

The unbelievable plight of the Rohingya continues in Burma. For weeks, an entire people have been the victims of the most barbaric treatment one could imagine. The mainstream media in Britain is still choosing to ignore ‘news’, that should be making the headlines every hour. Alternative news sources are being used by Muslims all over the world, who are in shock, witnessing the horrific plight of the Rohingya. The leaders of the Muslim countries, however, are doing practically nothing to help them.

It is commendable that a couple of weeks ago Mrs Erdogan visited the Rohingya and shared their pain, and also that Turkey offered $3 million in aid. However, a country with Turkey’s military might is able to do so much more. Surely Turkish Prime Minister, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, is in a position to persuade the leaders of Burma to take action against those who have murdered and mutilated the Rohingya people.

The President of Indonesia, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono recently met with Jusuf Kalla, who is the chairman of the Indonesian Red cross, to discuss the situation in Burma. Jusuf Kalla said that his organisation, along with the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, would deliver aid and start reconstruction of homes for the displaced people next month. Indonesia has the largest Muslim population in the world and all it will do is deliver aid - next month. The longer it waits to send aid- the less of it will need to be sent , if the killing continues. The Rohingya already had homes of their own, which were destroyed, what they need is protection from those persecuting them.

Allah, the almighty says in the Quran, “And what is wrong with you that you fight not in the Cause of Allah, and for those weak, ill treated and oppressed among men, women and children, whose cry is “Our Lord! Rescue us from this land whose people are oppressors, and raise for us from You one who will protect, and raise for us from You one who will help.” (Surah An Nisa – Verse 75)

What is wrong with Muslim nations, that they aren’t lifting a finger protect the Rohingya? Political pressure, sanctions, negotiations could all have made a difference, without even needing any military action.

Umar ibn Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, during the time of his Khaliphate said, “Even if a young goat dies in Iraq I fear that Allah, glory be to Him the Most High, will question me about it.”
Today, men, women and children are being killed, tortured and raped, whilst Muslim leaders live comfortably in their palaces. A true Muslim leader would not be able to sleep at night whilst innocents are being slaughtered in their homes.
