Milking The Holocaust For All It’s Worth

Michael Gove is one of the biggest Islamophobes in the Conservative party so of course he doesn’t miss the opportunity to use the tragedy of the Holocaust to score political points.

Here he repeats the lie that Iranian President, Mahmood Ahmadinejad called for “Israel to be wiped off the map”. What Gove covers up is that this was a BBC mistranslation of the original Farsi and that President Ahmadinejad was quoting the late Iranian leader Ayotollah Khomeini who said when speaking of the Zionist regime occupying Jerusalem that he wished for them “to be erased from the pages of history”.

Equating that speech with the desire to murder all Jews is palpable nonsense. This is akin to suggesting that the Americans who wanted an end to Communism, wanted to kill all Russians people too.

Despite Israel offering substantial bribes to emigrate to Israel and occupy even more Palestinian homes, the 30,000 plus Jews of Iran have decided stay put in Iran. I guess that gives he lie to the narrative that Ahmedinijad is an anti-Semite.

Of course being shadow Education Secretary, Mr Gove knows this but hey with HMD fast approaching why not slip in the odd lie just to pretend that the Holocaust will be repeated right?
