How Israel Offered to Sell South Africa Nuclear Weapons

The Guardian newspaper has revealed that Israel offered to sell nuclear weapons to the apartheid state of South Africa.

Israel has continually refused to confirm or deny that it has weapons of mass destruction, but this revelation appears to provide documentary proof.

The old South Africa and Israel always had very close ties and, understandably, both regimes went to great lengths to hide their unholy alliance – a marriage made in hell, if there ever was one. Virtually the whole world - quite rightly – heaped outrage and sanctions against South Africa which, together with internal political revolution, eventually pushed the ruling Whites to capitulate. The ‘democracy’ of Israel, however, continues to view some of its citizens and immediate neighbours with the same hatred as the non-Whites had to suffer. Even South African Archbishop Desmond Tutu has compared the actions of modern-day Israel against Palestinians as apartheid.

Confirming one of the world’s worst kept secrets that Israel is indeed nuclear-equipped is not a surprise, nor is it a shock that Israel would ally itself with a fellow shamefully racist country. The astonishing thing is that whereas South Africa has matured and moved on, Israel continues its xenophobic policies and attitudes without much of the world holding it to account.
