Promises Promises

It's now been well over a year, since US President, Barack Obama delivered a speech to a Cairo audience, in which he addressed the Muslim world and sought to extend the hand of friendship and reconciliation.
Obama, also gave a similar speech in vain in Indonesia, seeking to reiterate that commitment and acknowledge the obstacles, that have been encountered in 'trying' to achieve it.
A brief clip of his speech, highlights how Obama manages to captivate his audience and engage them. He is charming, but even his charm combined with his eloquence, will not detract from the stark reality that relations between the Muslim world and the US have changed little.
Ian Black, Middle East Editor for the Guardian comments:
'Still, it is actions that will in the end speak louder than even the most eloquent words.'
Do you think Obama has failed? If so, what are the reasons?
