Success as Zionists Lash Out at Muslim Organisation

It's always good to see an organisation being attacked by pro-Israeli extremists as it proves to the peaceful world that the organisation is doing something right.

One such person who has previously attacked Muslims on many occasions is Zionist Martin Bright, who wrote an infamous article in which he called the Quran a "con trick" (the article itself was later slapped down by the same scholars that Bright used as evidence) and has feverishly campaigned for Muslim organisations to be thrown out of the political sphere.

Once again, at the turn of the year, he hasn't let us down. Writing in the Jewish Chronicle he attacks MPACUK for its stance against Israel. In his article he claims that anti-Israeli anger is spreading on the web, which is only to be expected as it continues with its racist policies, its crimes against humanity and the building of illegal colonies on occupied land. Unsurprisingly, whilst defending Israel's atrocities he accuses organisations of "anti-Semitism", further proof of how Zionists regularly use the charge of anti-Semitism to silence anyone who dares to criticise Israel.

However it's pretty obvious that most of the British Jewish community doesn't agree with him. As we reported in October, a poll in the Jewish Chronicle showed that 92% of the Jewish community wanted the Government to talk to Muslims.

Israel was the traditional Jewish homeland before the Arab muslims started their conquest by slaughter across non muslim lands. It was not the west who displaced the Jews - it was muslims.

Why don't you educate yourself instead of making stupid statements like "give them a home in Wales, it is the best idea". Invading muslims created the situation, so stop with the bright ideas , it was the bright idea of the Arabs that got muslims into all this trouble. As you can see - across the world Islam is at odds with every society it infects, even its own. We are sitting back "watching them all fight" but it is muslims fighting muslims. Look at what is happening in the Yemen, Sudan, Somalia, the list goes on.

You don't seem to understand the connection between Jews and Israel? Naturally, you confess to being an un-apologetically ignorant, under-educated, member of that smallest of small minded tribe of human beings known collectively as Muslims. This being so, you should not pronounce on matters that you know nothing about. This simply grotesquely inflates the climate of dislike which surrounds the whole Muslim ummah in Europe and the West. The clock is ticking and your exile like that of the Muslim imperialists before you, in Spain and Central Europe, cannot be that far away. While objective analysis of the Quran is alien in the Muslim world, Christian & Jewish scholars have long subjected the Old & New Testaments to such examination, and this approach is an essential part of western intellectual activity that nothing is beyond criticism.
Blind rejection of the propositions contained in the article does not reverse them, it simply demonstrates that the person opposing the view does so from an instinctive rather than rational stance.
If Islam is a true faith and the Quran contains the accurate expression of the prophet, then there should be no reason for any Muslim to fear this type of analysis. Unless of course..............

This is not about rewriting the Quran, it is about understanding the historical development of Islam and the Quran in the same way that any concept might be studied. It is also about understanding how the complex Arabian culture shaped the evolution of Islam.
The ethos of Quranic study within Islam is fundamentally different to the western tradition of study and analysis. The scholastic culture of the Quran extends itself into the fabric of middle eastern academia and it is at the root of the inadequacy of the qualtiy of the education systems there.
There is a clash between cultures therefore when western scholars extend the scope of the studies to include the Quran and subject it to the critical analysis they would apply to any other subject. Muslims find this very difficult as it challenges their traditions, and questions subjects that they consider beyond question. Also due to the political elements of Islam, to be able to subject Islam to such analysis potentially undermines certain political stances.
The calls to extend blasphemy laws to include the Quran at a time when such legal instruments are regarded as anachronistic by the majority of people in UK, is evidence of the degree to which Muslims find it difficult to robustly endure rigorous analysis of Islam. This difficulty extends to challenges put to Muslims to explain certain aspects of Islam and the Quran which appear to be fundamentally contradictory to the broad values of the west, particularly when these Muslims assert that the Quran is immutable and cannot be subject to revision or reform.
Wr should only fear this analysis in my opinion if we actually believe in our hearts that the faith cannot withstand such scrutiny. If that is the case then I would suggest that reform is overdue.

Quranic analysis was closed down in the 11th century by Islamic scholars. They knew everything by then which is why Islam is not compatible with modern thinking.

Credibility is the key

It is important to remember, and that goes for MPACUK as well, that in today's media world it is less important now as to who owns a particular paper, or has dominating influence over it. In today's media world it is about credibility.

For too long major media outlets such as the Washington Post, NY Times, Telegraph, BBC, Fox, etc. have been able to spew out their version of events whilst at the same time choking away any challenge to their view of the world by simply ignoring it or refusing to publish it. They still have that hold but most people know what they are getting when they read these journals.

The internet has changed all that. Many pieces appearing in these otherwise highly regarded journals, such as those by Thomas Freidman of NY Times, are capable and in case of TF have been completely discredited as lies and deception. Propaganda does not work when people know that what they are hearing is propaganda. That clearly happened with Israel during its Gaza campaign when the President's spokesman Mark Regev tripped up and was caught lying blatantly. Video clips were then posted for millions to watch on YouTube and other outlets. Mainstream media had to take note and with a few exceptions many did. The world for Israel changed that day and incidentally the BBC completely lost its credibility. It is now seen as a state sponsored news outlet.

The JC for whom Martin Bright writes is catering to the needs of the converted. As can be seen from reading his articles, JC has an agenda and the facts are twisted to fit in with that agenda. Twisted facts are harder to challenge even when one intuitively knows that they have been twisted. It takes a lot of research and time to decipher the truth and communicate it to the readers. Fortunately, through the magic of internet, knowledgeable people like Gilad Atzmon, Norman Finkelstein, Uri Anvery, Ramzy Baroud, to name a few, are able to quickly challenge and supply us with the truth through alternative media forums such as e-Intifada and Redress or through their own websites. Indeed, on the Koran 'con-trick' piece, the sources that Bright quotes themselves refuted his claims and exposed his deception for what it was, a propaganda piece. They had to, if they were to maintain their own credibility, before someone else exposed it for them.
