Zionist Blood Dates given the boot in Manchester

Two Ramadan’s ago, MPACUK targeted Meezan Superstore on Wilmslow Road, Rusholme, in our annual boycott Zionist blood date campaign. After explaining the position of selling unethically sourced items, we asked the store to remove the Zionist Blood Dates and in following their refusal to do so, we picketed the store with the help of many other organisations like PSC & members from Respect.

At the time, the management of Meezan’s were non-plussed and really couldn’t care less that they were selling produce that was profiting Israel. It took decisive and firm action to make them finally concede and stop selling Israeli produce.

It may be surprising to some to hear that, they are now stocking Palestinian Mejdool dates, instead of their Zionist counterparts. It also shows how effective and necessary public accountability is, when private accountability fails.

Any Muslim shop keeper that is selling Israeli produce, inside and outside of Ramadan must be held to account and not be allowed to make profit out of supporting those who kill and oppress our brother & sisters in Palestine and demonise Islam & Muslims in the West.
