16.09.82: Sabra and Shatilla

16.09.1982: a date that should be engrained in our memories. A massacre of extreme proportions ensued that day. Innocent Palestinians, in the Lebanese camps of Sabra and Shatilla were slaughtered, raped and tortured by Israel, with support by the Phalangist Militia of Lebanon. How many were killed is something we can never truly know, as the statistics vary from 762 to 3500. The enemies of Muslims and peace, i.e the Zionist entity, downplay the number of innocent people killed, as if it somehow killing less makes them less guilty of being terrorists. But Islam is better than Zionism, it teaches us that one innocent life taken is one too many, as taking one life is like killing the whole of mankind. (Quran 5:32)

There has been significant rage against the recent film, negatively depicting our Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). The question we have is, where is the rage over the massacre of Sabra and Shatilla? Where is the rage of Burma’s Rohingya Muslims? Until our rage is galvanised into meaningful action, as opposed to torching embassies and killing officials, then our love for Islam is superficial, as we're proving we don’t have the same rage regarding oppression. It is for this reason, that Sabra and Shatilla aren't commemorated by the mainstream, and that there is no one minute silence for our innocents that have been massacred.
