Quran To Be Banned In Spain?

Quranic Text in Arabic With Tasbeeh

In the year 711, the Muslim army travelled to Spain and conquered the country within 7 years. It became one of the greatest Muslim civilisations. Jews, Christians and Muslims were given rights and the freedom to practice their religion. According to a BBC report, “The Muslim period in Spain is often described as a 'golden age' of learning where libraries, colleges, public baths were established and literature, poetry and architecture flourished.” This amazing country, which was known as Andalus, was a part of Europe and part of the Islamic Empire.

Although this great civilisation ruled the area for many centuries, it came to an end in 1492, when the Christian forces took over the country. The leader at the time, Boabdil, was forced to hand over Spain to the Christian Rulers. His mother supposedly taunted her son, saying that he “Wept like a woman what he could not hold as a man.” The Muslims at that time were not active enough and therefore did not have the power to defend themselves. They became complacent and too involved with the life of this world.

Today Muslims in Spain are under attack once again. This time, not by Christians, but strangely by an ex Muslim. Imran Firasat, who describes himself as a Pakistani ex Muslim, residing in Spain, has lodged a formal petition to the Spanish government to ban the Quran.

What is strange about this, is that when a person from another faith decides to leave their religion, they will usually just walk away, some may hate their ex religion, as they may have been attacked or let them down by the people of that faith. But how often do you find that people will leave a religion and set up a website to start a vicious attack against it? When it comes to ex Muslims, it is quite common for them to attack Islam. Go into any Zionist loving web page and you will find a lot of them there, including on Facebook. Yes you read it right, the Zionists and these ex Muslims are united to undermine Islam as a religion and Muslims as a people. Again, we see that this kind of Islamophobia takes its root from Zionism.

Firasat stated on his blog, “Many Muslims sent me the messages calling me stupid and commenting that the Government of Spain is not going to entertain your petition and that they will tear and throw your petition. Well, the good news is that I have received a letter from the Parliament of Spain, in which they informed me that they have admitted my petition and sent to the “Constitutional Commission” of the Parliament.”

Firasat has taken his hate of Islam, his Islamophobia, to the next level and all Muslims did was call him stupid and say that the Government is never going to do anything about it. Because the Muslims failed to get political and take action against Firasat’s absurd claim, the Spanish government has accepted the claim to ban the Quran, for consideration. They will in due course discuss whether this petition should be taken any further.

The fact that this absurd claim has even been accepted, means that this level of Islamophobia is deemed acceptable by the people in government. Imagine if somebody put in a petition to ban the Torah. It would never happen, for two reasons; one, they would immediately be accused of anti-Semitism and two, the Jewish people, quite rightly would take a stand against it. The Jews have learnt from their history, unfortunately it seems that the Muslims have learnt nothing.

Learn from our history and defend your faith against anybody who attacks it, whilst you are still strong enough to do so.

If you fail to become a political Muslim, then you have failed the religion of Islam, as judging by the rising Islamophobia, one day your rights to practice will be taken away in this country.

Everywhere we turn we see groups of people attacking Islam. It’s not a threat, it’s reality. We need to stand up and defend ourselves and get politically active, before it’s too late. Let’s not weep tomorrow for something that we did not do today.
