Hate Me - I'm Muslim

hate

With the number of hate crimes against Muslims increasing daily, more and more organisations are being set up and leaflets being printed, inciting religious hatred against Muslims and yet nothing is being done about this. The question has to be asked, why not?

As proven in the past, groups such as the EDL are notoriously Islamophobic and racist. A small example can be found in these Youtube videos with their leader Steven Lennon, aka Tommy Robinson and Guramit Singh. They give very strong and public examples of their Islamophobic attitudes towards even the vast majority of peaceful Muslims:

The EDL strategically demonstrate against Islam in heavily Muslim-populated areas, marching against our freedom to live freely in the UK and to have institutions which represent us. Demonstrations by the EDL are defended by the police, leaving Muslims that choose to counterdemonstrate against these marches vulnerable to violent attacks and slander for wanting to defend the right to be Muslim. Why, then, are we not doing anything about this? We are ridiculed in every newspaper, yet we sit back silently. Why do our institutions stay quiet when Masjids and the Ummah are being attacked?

How can we allow such groups to demonise the Muslim masses? The EDL have been behind crimes such as a severed pig’s head, being dumped outside of Dudley Masjid.

Yet this is not seen as hate crime and only criminal damage. There have been further attacks, yet the Police will not publicise these. Why?

Push for these crimes and evidence against these crimes to be published. The Muslim community need to know what they are up against.

What will it take for you stand up and defend yourself?

Will it take another Stephen Lawrence before you?

The Ummah and today’s society need to see an end to the injustice we face from the EDL and other far right groups in UK today. Why are the Police and local authorities not doing anything about this?

It is because we do not hold them to account like the Stephen Lawrence family did, who later went on to achieve the publication of the Stephen Lawrence Inquiry Report, which made 70 recommendations and brought about a fundamental change in UK law.

To make a real difference, to tackle the EDL and groups such as the EDL that carry out such heinous crimes against innocent Muslims, contact your local MP & police station to request the statistics of hate crimes in your local area.

With enough pressure the authorities will start to work to stop Islamophobia and far right groups. Political participation is the key to bring down far right groups and stop hate crime against Muslims. Just like the Lawrences we must fight this political battle to bring justice against hate crime.

When will the Muslim Ummah wake up to pro-actively counter such hatred against Muslims, to our very way of life, to our very existence? Muslims are oppressed in almost every corner of the world. The only people that can free the Muslims are the Muslims, but until we wake up and counter the problems together, united under the banner of La Illah ha Illalah, we we will constantly face Islamophobia and demonisation and may as well just wear a sign round our necks, saying: 'HATE ME, I’M MUSLIM'.

For if you put me to death, you will not easily find another, who, to use a rather absurd figure, attaches himself to the city as a gadfly to a horse, which, though large and well bred, is sluggish on account of his size and needs to be aroused by stinging. I think the god fastened me upon the city in some such capacity, and I go about arousing
