Think Globally - Act Locally
Many British Muslims are angry about the policies of their government in both domestic and foreign affairs yet they let apathy get the better of them. There is no better time than election time to send a message to the politicians. If you’ve ever been angry about the politician that represents you then you should take action today. Remember Muslim don’t have the power to decide who the government should be but many of us do have the power to decide who our MP is.
Make sure you vote with your conscience and make sure you select the candidate that best serves your needs. MPACUK has published a number of articles and answered a large number of enquires from Muslims asking about their local candidates. This is an excellent sign, it means Muslims are taking the issue of democracy seriously and willing to think about their decision carefully.
More and more Muslims are organising or attending local hustings and asking searching questions on security policy, civil liberties, local amenities and foreign policy. We hope the trend continues and that Muslims hold their representatives to account. Make sure you go out and vote today.
