David cameron at the Conservative Party Conference 2009

Shadow Home Secretary Chris Grayling has said he will ban 'extremist' muslim websites.

Hmmm....Does this mean the Tories, who have produced bigots like Lord Pearson of Rannoch, will ban extremist groups such as BNP and UKIP too?

We look forward to a UK government with more double standards.

Assalaam alaikum and Greetings

One the face of it, it appears that most Muslims shouldn't worry about this policy. After all, the sort of EXTREMIST Islamic Websites/Video-conferencing which they wish to ban are for the likes of Al Muhajiroun/Omar Bakri. And, perhaps, Hizbut-tahir.

The problem is, once they have done this then where next?

Note the words used are "We will prosecute those who organise the propagation of banned ideologies ". In other words, ideologies which THEY consider to be banned.

So, websites and speeches which talk ill of governments, in particular against Israel, could also be banned because discussing or criticising the state of Israel and its policies could be considered a 'banned ideology'.

So, the likes of MPAC may also follow soon as will any Islamic Websites which even mention the word "Jihad" (which most of you know means 'struggle' and takes many forms).

To me, the government should apply laws equally, and bring down websites which talk about white supremacy, jewish supremacy. etc. etc.

In other words, ALL EXTREMIST websites should be banned, and not just the Muslim ones.

Amazing how many Muslims turned out to oppose this mosque but not a single white person in sight -- normally it’s the other way round. Is the reason for resident’s joy really what the residents claim it is? You would wonder why Muslims would be opposing a mosque until you realise it’s the mosque for the ‘other’ sect.

Are Muslims less tolerant than the natives after all? If they can’t even tolerate a mosque just because it’s for the other sect what chances do churches and synagogues have in Eurabia?

So if you don't agree with anyone's beliefs you don't have to give them religious freedom? Excellent argument in favour of minarets ban.

Muslims are the most intolerant. They do not deserve our tolerance unless we want them to make our societies intolerant too when they are in numbers. Time to stop Muslim immigration.
