Row Breaks Out In Mosque In Bethnal Green

Since you seem to be getting gossip in about the elections from Muslims around the UK, I thought I would send you in something from my Bethnal Green & Bow constituency. Latest update on Rushnara Ali, Labour Party PPC, is that she tried to do a speech just before Juma in Brick Lane Mosque and as a result the whole Mosque of 3,000 people plus went mental as they are very non-political partisan type pf people, barelvi type which did not go well.

A huge scuffle broke out and she had to be dragged out on to Brick Lane. Funnily enough the Mosque committee are pro-Labour and are also members of the ruling Awami League in Bangladesh - the same ones whom have recently begun to again lock up a large proportion of the Ulema and put several senior members of the Islamic groups such as Jamaat e Islami under house arrest. These were the same people here in the UK that assisted Andrew Gilligan on his biased dispatches programme against Islamic Forum Europe and the East London Mosque.

This is just the beginning and will continue - will keep an eye on it.
