Does The Sun really matter?

Tony woodle yripping

The biggest newspaper in the UK, The Sun has switched allegiances from Labour to Conservative.

According to the pundits Prime Minister Gordon Brown looked really downcast despite all his courting, and members of the Labour party were working themselves into a right frenzy over the news.

But so what? The traditional press is taking an absolute pounding which begs the question, do The Sun and Murdoch really matter now?

Does The Sun really matter?

Of course it does, but only if the toilet paper has run out.

LOL!

There seems to be some confusion here.

It is not that the Sun has changed allegiance, therefore Labour is going to lose the next election.

It is that Labour is going to lose the next election, therefore the Sun has changed allegiance.

The Sun is not the only rat leaving the sinking ship. All kinds of industries, multi-nationals, private donors and lobby groups are fleeing from Labour.

Just read this brilliant article from The Independent:

Call me cynical, but it just goes to show that some peoples principles are up for sale.

The sun like others backs

The sun like others backs those it sees as winners, as the feeling time for a change is around, it does not require a genius to work out why the sun has ditched new labour.

Murdoch - The Kingmaker

I'm afraid it does matter.

Rupert Murdoch has never backed the wrong horse in a general election.

I can’t stand Labour, they sold their soul to re-invent themselves, launched wars of choices with their american compadres which killed, displaced and destroyed the lives of millions and took huge chunks out of our civil liberties.

We are sleepwalking into a tory government, whom I suspect will be even worse on all counts.

It is the reformer who is anxious for the reform, and not society, from which he should expect nothing better than opposition, abhorrence and mortal persecution
