US Elections Fruitless for Muslims
US Presidential Election Republican candidate Mitt Romney has travelled to Israel on his tour, in order to garner strong support from the Zionist community by building bridges with the current Israeli regime. Meanwhile, President Obama, who is running for re-election this year has signed an extra $70million in military aid to Israel.
With less than 111 days to go before Americans take to the polls, the race is on for these two candidates to prove themselves. However, it is clear that these candidates do not care for the American public: if so, Obama would not have increased in spending, soaring USA’s national debt and would address the broken promises he has kept towards the American public. So the question is; who will give these candidates electoral victory?
It is clear that Israel is the key to electoral victory with one of the largest lobbying groups being AIPAC (American Israeli Public Affairs Committee). We have warned Muslims previously about AIPAC but it seems our words have fallen on deaf ears. There are still many Muslims who want to vote Obama and see him as the “lesser of the two evils,” due to the fact that they are oblivious to the increased spending in military against Muslims with his Nobel Peace Drones; we are fooled by Obama’s smooth speeches where claims he wants more dialogue with the Muslim world. Then we have Mitt Romney and Republicans in general who seem to have a reputation for making Islamophobic remarks.
It is apparent though that whether the Muslims vote Republicans or Democrats, one thing is certain: the outcome of the election is going to be unfavourable for Muslims until and unless we Muslims stand up and create a strong political lobby. It is because of our inaction and pacifism that two Islamophobes are running for presidency and we are effectively given a choice as to who we want to oppress us. This is the fruit of not being politically active in the affairs of the Muslims. Could we imagine the president and the candidates going to Muslim countries in order to garner election support for Muslims back home? Just imagine that Romney flew all the way to Israel to garner support from the Jewish electorate which comprise just 1.7% of the total US population.
This article is also relevant to Muslims living in the UK as they need to know and understand that many of their representatives, such as those in Labour Friends of Israel and the Conservative Friends of Israel are stoking support from the Zionist terrorist regime. A lot of our representatives do not depend on the support from the Muslim community for their votes but from Zionist funding as exposed by Channel 4 in 2009.
Until we Muslims understand this political game and take an active role in it, we will continue to be oppressed and our voices will be suppressed further. There may be a democratic voting system but until we have a strong political lobby, the only thing we shall be voting for is who to oppress us.
