Following MPACUK’s Action Alert about the bigoted Solihull Borough Councillor, Jeff Potts, who posted anti-Muslim messages on Twitter, Mr Potts has been removed from all Council Committees, boards and external positions.
An archive search shows that Mr Potts was actively involved in numerous committees, including the Standing Advisory Committee on Religious Education. Now he is not involved in any of them.
The decision to do so was taken by the Solihull Conservative council group as a result of the barrage of complaints the council has received. Thank you for actioning the alert and keeping up the pressure on the council.
Although this is separate to the ongoing Code of Conduct process, the actions that have been taken so far demonstrate that it was thanks to public pressure that Jeff Potts has been held to account rather than be excused for his bigotry.
The complaints are currently being dealt with in accordance with the Council’s Code of Conduct Complaints procedure and as soon as we have an update we will inform you.

If you haven’t yet actioned the alert you can still apply pressure to the council by emailing and tweeting them today by going to the MPACUK Action Alert (there is a template letter provided too).
