There is strong evidence to suggest that Islamists wanting to establish shariah law will be emboldened by swine flu and claim that Islamism which forbid consumption of pork is true. In Swat there have probably been celebrations. Why won't the government wake up and smell the coffee and stop giving ammunition to those who hate our way of life and our pigs. Apparently the flu started with a malfunctioning pork factory owned by Smithfield foods (biggest pork producers in the world) in Mexico. Because the pollution and the fecal matter of the swine was so bad, the flies that came into contact with them would be carrying dirty bacteria. From there the flies carried on to the local villages.
After that the flu just spread like a normal, but genetically modified and enhanced strain.

Swine flu has been around for centuries. Combined with the fact that pigs also also harbour tapeworm eggs in hot climates pork has always been viewed as "iffy". But when kept in correct circumstances it is fine.

But if God so wills He can also show us the wisdom behind the things He has prohibited. The recent rapid rise in cases of swine flu, a lethal disease, is one of the reasons why the eating of pork is unlawful.

There are numerous hadiths that indicate the mass culling or total annihilation of Pigs near the end times. Indeed, nations may have to resort to the mass slaughter of pigs in order to prevent the spread of swine flu if it becomes an epidemic threatening the whole world. Egypt has in fact already begun slaughtering pigs in order to protect itself against the disease.
