The Prophet (SAW) is attacked again and the Mosques stay silent. Again. Print E-mail

584413_moon.jpgReligious groups are calling for a ban on an online game where holy figures such as Jesus and the prophet Muhammad fight to the death.

Critics say the free Faith Fighter game is 'deeply provocative' and 'disrespectful' towards all world religions.

Muslims are particularly outraged because Islamic tradition prohibits drawings of Allah.

Hindus and Buddhists are also upset as the god Ganesha and Buddha are two of the six 'players'.

'This game is going out of its way to upset people and I think it should be taken off the internet,' said Douglas Miller, pastor of the Link Church in Birmingham.

'Playing violent video games will ultimately affect your behaviour and this game is deeply offensive and provocative.'

A spokesman for the Federation of Muslim Organisations said: 'In the current climate, this game can only create fear about religion. 'Having images depicting Muhammad in this way is also very offensive to our faith.'

Brian Appleyard, former chairman of the Buddhist Society, called the game an 'offensive futile project'.

The makers of the game, where a loincloth-clad Jesus battles against a fireball-shooting Muhammad, have shrugged off criticism.

A spokesman for Italian-based molleindustria said the purpose of the game was 'to push gamers to reflect on how sacred representations are often used to fuel or justify conflicts between people'.

Snake:

The fireball part was taken from a southpark cartoon which depicted the prophet along with jesus and various other religious founders. This episode showed them fighting david blaine and was aired twice on channel 4 with no response from anyone. Shame every Muslim failed to spot this about 5 years ago as it has been going on far longer than most know.

Brother Ali:

If you are offended don't play it, or play the censored version. Do you really think mosque leaders care about this non story?

Mohsin:

The bloody story only came out yesterday, when exactly are the 'Mosques' meant to have commented. You people should chill out alittle and take stock of yourselves!

When will the Muslims realise that the Kuffar are bound to attack the Prophet (saw) and Islaam. When will we realise that only the Khilafah can and will silent once and for all those who dare attack the Master of Messengers (saw).

Isn't it high time that Muslims join forces with those who are working tirelessly to re-establish Allah's Shade on this earth once again.

what they are trying to say is we should have the right to insult, ridicule and offend your religion or what ever you believe

kaffur will stop at nothing to cause offence just so they can offend others,

in another way it's attack on freedoms, rather than the freedom to say something which offends,

why are so many try to enforce their way of life on others?

this article draws attention to the monkeys of MPAC, very quick to jump and criticise the mosques. is it any wonder that people resent you. fair enough you have alerted the story but for heaven sake, give us a break. its been less than 24 hours and anyway, do we want to react to this non-story? sometimes its best to let these things pass. we have bigger battles to fight.
just chill out.

People who call for free flash games to be taken off the internet really don't understand the Internet, and really aren't going to be taken seriously.

The real way to deal with this is to create another flash game, but this time from the Muslim view-point, which is more fun to play, and draws attention away from the other game.

But we're all too busy collecting income support, beating our wives and giving out arm-chair fatwas to worry about that...
