| We Prefer Broken Necks to a Broken Ummah |

My heart bleeds when I see the pain our Ummah goes through - how can our people go through so much suffering, and for so long?Everyday I thank Allah for waking me up to the truth - to be a Muslim who is active, who doesn't take his faith for granted, and who cares for the Ummah. And everyday I thank Allah for making me a part of MPACUK - never before have I been around Muslims who care so much the Ummah that it reduces them to tears.
But it's not easy being awake - being aware of the suffering around us.
You have to stand up to the evils you see inside of yourself and to all
those evils around you that you see in your daily life.
Not only that, you often have to take the slings and arrows of the very people you try to defend. Some Muslims really hate MPACUK for doing what we do. They see us as the ones who spread the problems. They think we are the troublemakers and they think that by getting rid of us at least the problems they all face will be easier to tackle. We’ve received threats, been slammed by our critics: Muslims, non-Muslims, heck, sometimes even our own families. But you know what? We don’t care. Don’t get me wrong – we need constructive critics, we believe in accountability. But what we will never do is let critics stop us from persevering with our work, always striving to do better. Some people say we shouldn’t get mixed up in politics and media – we should keep our heads down and let the storm blow over. Some people say that Muslims are nothing, and that we have an extremism problem. Some people say the Ummah's freedom is not worth fighting for and that we shouldn't bother reviving our Mosques and ISocs to lead this fight. Some people say... But it makes no difference – we’ll keep going because we do this only for Allah. We’re going to defend our fellow Muslims whether they want to be defended or not. We’re going to give everything even though we have almost nothing. And we’ll keep going 'til we can no more. We have nothing to gain from this – we don’t get paid, we barely have enough funding for the work we are doing and we don’t end up with that many friends at the end of it all. So, whether you hate us, demonise us, can’t stand the sight of us or just don't give a damn, know one thing - we’re going to be here to fight for Allah’s Cause, and we're going to keep fighting till our Ummah is finally free. We’re going to get the job done even if we’re hated. We’re going to free our Ummah and protect it from annihilation even if it means we get annihilated in the process. We much prefer our own necks be broken than those of the Ummah. If you care about the Ummah, and are prepared to do what's necessary to free our people from demonisation and oppression then please come to a MPACUK Study Circle to find out how we can work together to free our Ummah. Contact us at info@mpacuk.org to find out more. Readers have left 12 comments.

The self regard and self pity are astounding. The Muslims are the persecuted of the earth and the MPAC walleh are the persecuted of the Muslims. My heart aches.
You say you stand up for the Muslim but I have never seen a word about the women in Saudi Arabia barred from driving, the homosexuals and Sunnis persecuted in Iran or the Shias in Saudi. You only mention the suffering of Darfur if you think you can pin it on the Zionists. You allow self-declared BNP supporters to post unchallenged (see the article on Robert Fisk - I replied to 'Androm' but was not published) then accuse the Zionists of being Nazis. You are an embarrassment to the noble tradition of Islam.

Listen, Paul, I support direct democracy. Do you even know what it means? It is the only form of democracy worth talking about. Forming our own little tribes AKA parties only allows us to be divided and ruled by the political establishment.
I have said again and again, if we had had a referendum on whether or not to go to war, we would not have gone to war, because so many groups who would have regarded each other as enemies, ie SWP, BNP, Muslims, etc marched together opposing the war. Most British people don't give a damn about the existence of Israel and would not risk their lives to defend it. Why should they? I don't know what you expect the Muslims here to do about the oppression of Saudi women and other oppressed groups in othe parts of the world, when they already have their hands full here, dealing with the fall-out from the crazy domestic, economic, social and foreign policy the government is still pursuing. No, what we need to do is all support JUST ONE PROTEST PARTY that promises referenda on ANY issue the members wish. Its members don't have to agree on the answer, only that the question should be asked and put to the vote. I am sympathetic to the BNP because their activists have chosen to suffer ostracisation to speak their minds, just as I am sympathetic to the Sharia-promoting Muslims, because they DARE to speak their minds, which nobody does nowadays. I, a Libertarian, support free speech, even for people who disagree with me. I would also like you to consider that the two most despised groups in Britain were in fact right about not going to war in Iraq. If you want to talk to me Paul, join www.1party4all.co.uk, if you dare. Even Socialist Workers' Party members like you are welcome. I am THAT inclusive and liberal.

May I congratulate you for engaging in politics and beimg one of the livelier sites.
May I also suggest that some of you should go over to www.democracyforum.co.uk and MINGLE? There are already Muslims there. Don't just stay in your own groups, you MUST convince the rest of the country that they are wrong to fear and hate you, and that you are in fact nice people underneath your beards and burqas and don't want to blow them up and take over their country. You may actually want to take over the country, in which case you must show them that it would be better after you have taken over. If people don't know individual Muslims, then they will think of you all as a monolithic group. If just one of you makes a good impression with a member of another group, they will at least remember that. Remember, Allah does not change the lot of those who do not change what is in their hearts. And politics is impossible without perseverance, patience and persuasion. Think of yourselves as the salesmen of your faith. Once you do, you will take all the ego out of it, and people being rude to you will not be quite so upsetting. Think of it as an opportunity for self-improvement and an opportunity to test your powers of persuasion, and you will be fine, and even get to enjoy it, as I do. Stay here huddling together and you will remain in isolation, alienated and alienating. Go forth and mingle!

Andromeda. Three points:
1. You wonder what Muslims are supposed to do about Saudi Arabia or Iran, yet you are happy that they obsess about Israel / Palestine. 2. On the Fisk article you said that the BBC DG was clearly being hen pecked by his Zionist wife. I asked you what evidence you had that she is a Zionist. You say she is an American but then so are outspoken anti-Zionists like Noam Chomsky and Norman Finkelstein. So what were you basing your assertion on? 3. What an earth makes you think I am a supporter of the the colonialist settler Yigael Gluckstein - sorry, Tony Cliff - and his SWP cult?

The reason why palestine is mentioned is to do with the fact that the palestinian people were put into bondage and suffering by the british government.
Also britain to this day supplies and defends israels illegal actions,so as british citizens we have a right to criticise our governments policies. As to how homosexuals are treated in their countries that is their choice, if women are allowed to drive in saudi or not that is their choice, i may disagree with their policy but i have no right to lecture them. Just like jews beating up jewish women for sitting in the front section of the bus, just like white jews treating black jews as second class, that is israels problem.
