| Turning Activism into a Crime |

What are the police for? Apparently they are there to protect the
public interest. But what is the public interest? It appears to be
interpreted by most forces as preserving the status quo. Anyone who
seeks political change is treated as if they were an enemy of the
public interest, even when they are seeking to make the world a better
place. It seems as if the ordinary citizens aren't actually allowed to
say what we think is best for us. Instead, it's left to "big brother".
We've heard a lot of talk lately about how Iran cracks down on any
public protest, yet why are our own Government's actions not exposed?
We had unnecessary police bullying during the G20 summit, and recently there was another case
of two women hurt, arrested, tied up and remanded in prison for four
days by the police for campaigning against the obsessive filming of
protesters by the police Forward Intelligence Team (FIT).
