On Thursday 18th June, Noor Ul Islam Trust launched its appeal in aid of “The Big Push” to raise funds for the Whipps Cross Maternity Unit. The Trust wishes to collect money and support other local groups that benefit the whole community.

Yusuf Hansa, the Chair of the Trust mentioned how Whipps Cross University hospital staff were a credit to Waltham Forest. He added that with so many of Noor Ul Islam’s stakeholders born at Whipps Cross Hospital, the Trust could not have chosen a better charity as their first Annual Charity of the Year.

The prophet (saw) told us that the best charity is to your family and neighbours. The Whipps Cross Maternity Unit delivers over 5000 babies a year and many of them are of Muslim families. This charity will be a continuous benefit inshaAllah (Sadaqa Jariya) rewarding the donors for many decades to come.

More importantly it is a great dawa initiative, showing the generosity and humanity of the Muslim community in the service of the public.

Stephen Jacobs, Chair of Whipps Cross University Hospital Trust thanked the Trust and the pupils from Noor Ul Islam Primary School at the launch – who were all born at the maternity unit at Whipps Cross University Hospital, for nominating “The Big Push” as its charity of the year.

Noor Ul Islam Trust aims to raise over £4000 for “The Big Push” appeal by the end of this year.
