A new report by the Farm Animal Welfare Council proposes that the practice of religious slaughter as carried out by Muslims and Jews should come to an end.

Catherine Heseltine, a MPACUK spokesperson, talks to Marcus Churchill on LBC Radio about the FAWC's report and halal meat.

Good interview. Catherine raised some very good points, especially the fact that the FAWC report is not the definitive opinion on the matter, and there are other scientists with contrasting views.

The Farm Animal Welfare Council made similar assertions about religious slaughter back in 2004. The MCB responded and made some very good points. It quoted scientific research proving that religious slaughter is not cruel.
