You care so much for a dead person! Why not for one’s who are alive? Print E-mail

deadtree2.jpgA while ago, my great grandma passed away (she was 113! May Allah bless her), but when I was at her funeral prayer in the mosque, I was struck by something which explains how many of our mosque leaders have the potential to do so much for the Ummah and yet don’t. After the prayer, many of the Muslims made their way to the graveyard to bury her, but so many of them had no clue who she was and yet STILL went! Why? Because they had been TAUGHT that to pray for someone who has passed away, to carry the coffin, to bury the body, to console the family is a good deed. That’s why.

But think about it. Look at how they went out of their way to help someone they don’t know, even though the person is dead!

Now imagine if these same Muslims had been taught by the Mosque leaders to care for people who are oppressed. Just as they went out of their way to help a dead person, they would do the same for those who are oppressed. Think of the change it could make! Our Ummah would be free, our people wouldn’t be downtrodden and there would be universal justice.

Unfortunately, most of our mosques don’t even come near to doing this.

Our mosque leaders need to change, they need to improve and lead the political movement to free our Ummah, because otherwise we’ll always be carrying the coffins of our downtrodden Muslims, but never stop them being put into coffins in the first place.

good thinking I love this
"we’ll always be carrying the coffins of our downtrodden Muslims, but never stop them being put into coffins in the first place".
but when I first look at the heading I thought you want to say something about Israel lobby against Iran they are making big Haaa and Hooo for "Neda Agha-Solanti" death without caring thousand palestine being killed and tortured. ur heading fit for both purpose.
