Good interview, however it was on at 3.00pm not 2.30..Muslim timing?

I am surprised that Asghar didn't nail the Iman and chairman of the Luton Mosques, after he said Asghar should do his homework and then proved Asghar's point by saying they didn't get involved in Politics?

The very act of confronting Al Marjaroon is a political act. I was saddened to hear that the Mosque leader refused to accept that within Islam is a component that deals with politics and empowers Muslims to use Politics as a liberating tool.

Sad but all to often the case.

Optimus Prime:

Did anyone even bother to hear the REAL important stuff? About control ortder? Anyone here have any ideas how many Muslims are held under control orders?

No... lets give airspace that Anjem bloke and his clowns....I didn't even bother to watch the rest of this.. - the whole Luton thing is minor compared to what Muslims are being subjected to in this country under anti terror laws but most of you guys CHOOSE to stay quiet.

Asghar is a Munafiq - Democracy is haram and kufr, and to promote it is kufr.

Good afternoon:

I haven't pressed play on the video yet. But i'm going to make a prediction. Asgher Bukhari's main thesis on the debate will be someting to do with the mosque. The Mosque failed to ensure a peacefull election in Iran or The BNP got in because of the mosque. He doesn't do his Namaz because of the elders at the mosque, He has horriable nightmares because of bearded men at the mosque. Ohhh... did i forget to say; the climate change is taking place because of the carbon foot print (sandles) at the mosque??

You Mosque be JOKING lad?? You need your head locked into your sholders. Let's move along from the blame game.

You must love him.

The issue they were debating was could the Mosque have done more to stop the problem before it came to a head, the simple answer is yes.

And as such the Mosque has a responsibility to ensure that Muslims are not demonized, attacked, marginalized, or provoked. They haven't, and to use the Algerian example is unaceptable, to accept defeat, and stop trying to find a political solutions the moment they face adversity is unquestionalble.

While the Algerian FIS were fighting for their rights, I would be interested what direct political action the brother took to protect their legitimate win. Or did he sit on his hands while western governments sponsored a coup and then the Algerian army?

T.E.SAMAD:

Well done to brother Asghar Bukhari-he needs to go onto the Islam Channel more often. Qadeer Baksh made Asghar's point when Qadeer said that he doesn't believe in political participation. Qadeer also said that he is helping oppressed Muslims by doing dawah but obviously his so-called dawah hasn't done much if not anything for opressed Muslims in places like Palestine, Chechnya, Iraq, Afghanistan and so on. There really does need to be more intelligent people like Asghar Bukhari because it is people like Asghar Bukhari who talk about relevant issues, who devise ways in which Muslims the world over can actually make a difference in society and also people like Asghar Bukhari help to tackle the rampant Islamophobia that exists today.

Omar:

Bizarre. Asghar's arguments are a bit too advanced for the Islam Channel. I agree with the above comment that it is so amateurish it's difficult to make it to the end. Asghar, in future, don't bother.

As far as the Imam is concerned, those in this country who hate Muslims must love him and those of his ilk. They are vital to the BNP, Israel supporters and others. Without this massively bearded man, dressed in rags, the racists would have to work a great deal harder. We need to declare war on the mosque 'leaders' [read Emirs, Kings, Village Elders] who imported to this country the Third World attitudes that have made the Islamic world backward. I truly, truly hate these men.

Also, why don't Muslims wear ties? It's churlish not to. Come on, Asghar. Put on a tie. With respect, you look like a used car salesman without one.

Keep up the good work though.

Lutonian:

Asghar absolutely defeated that imam from luton

When are mosques going to understand that politics should not be neglected, otherwise the Muslims will suffer again and again.

Next time firebomb Qadeer:

It'd do more good than harm for the Muslim community.
Go Muslims - go back to your deen - sit and count beads, and pray... pray hard...

Yep but you do realise that Islam channel relies heavily on volunteers. One of these guys works in law and the other is an IT professional. They had probably just finished their normal 9-5 jobs before they came onto air. So professional they are not, but if you think you can do a better job- GO FOR IT!

Unknown, Islam Channel had a political show with Sister Yvonne Ridley, an experienced and qualified journalist...they still haven't given a valid reason why she was removed.

I thought Asghar looked rather dashing and dapper and I love the pose he does with his index finger while his chin is resting on his hand.I think he is a committed muslim who is not in it for the limelight and despite the rumours,im sure he doesn't stand in front of the mirror hours on end talking to himself and reminding himself that yes,he relly is good looking bloke!

Qasim:

I havent bothered watching the video yet but have been aware of Mpac for a few years now. I dont agree with their approach. They constantly slag off people and slander which is forbidden in Islam as it is. They attack all the elders in the mosque for not doing enough. These elders have sacrificed alot of time and money in establishing the mosque someone which these young members and memebers of mpac do not do. I bet most mpac members dont even attend the mosque as they feel its not important to offer salah in congregation. Writing letters and complaining to the authroities is pointless.
