A spokesman for the BNP was unaware of the leak but didn't sound too surprised: "It wouldn't surprise me if someone has done this, but they'll be in trouble, not just under the Data Protection Act but also for contempt of court - there's an ongoing court case." UKIP recently rejected overtures from the BNP suggesting an electoral pact. Meanwhile, UKIP's most famous ex-member, Robert Kilroy Silk is currently strutting his stuff on I'm a Celebrity...while collecting his MEP salary of course. The most poignant comment is that of an anti-facist who says "I hope that each and everyone of you now feels what it is like to live with constant fear of the intimidation and victimisation caused by racists and narrow minded people like you." The list was originally published on this website http://bnpmemberslist.blogspot.com/ but the website was removed at 0030, 19th November. Copies of the list are flying around the internet and have been published in their entirety by the famous wikileaks website http://wikileaks.org.uk/leak/bnp-membership-list.txt UPDATE: A heatmap showing the spread of BNP members in the UK has been drawn up. I am certainly most eager to know if there are BNP members living near me or teaching at my local schools! Just to confirm - my interest is not for violent objectives.

there are only 10 000 or so members - arent you over egging the red blobs on the map a bit to make it look as if they represent a greater area and number.
itsr a mere 1 in 6 000 . maybe the blobs should be more representative of the local population .. ie say 50 in a population of say 50 000 would be hardly visible in real terms.

Surely anyone can belong to any organisation, like people on this site belonging to HUT. Both the HUT and BNP are not very pleasant, but I think anyone should be allowed to join. After all this country is a free thinking democracy, only fascists would try and limit what people think and do.

Yes, people are free to join whatever 'organisation' they choose, but the BNP are known to stir up trouble to divide the communities and brandish everyone with same brush, which is grossly unfair! If a Pakistani or Muslim, or black has committed a crime, they make out the whole community is to blame! Personally, I wouldn't lose sleep about whether any of those members are living in fear! Now they have a taste of what their twisted propaganda has had on the innocent Asian, Muslim, black walking down the street all these years! Not very surprised to learn that certain members of the police force are members. The Met and racism go back a long way! Guess that why they have earned their badge: P.I.G. Lol! Quite shocked at how many Jewish names on the list. Disgusting!! And the vicar..don't even get me started on that!

I use to be a regular reader of Searchlight when it routinely planted moles inside British fascist organisations. The view 'from the inside' was extremely illuminating. In short,the BNP is a political party run by and for psychopaths, with the odd gullible racist lacky riding side-saddle.

i have just been reading the bnp party manifesto and i have to say its not a patch on reading the koran or sirat, theres no mandate of war against non party members or death to those that leave, no beating of wifes found or hands and feet chopping off no throwing gay people from tall buildings either, no heads been chopped of oh and by the way while you ponder on harrassing somone for being so called racist, is any of you going to be dating non muslim men any time soon without fear of been killed, or drugging white school girls?

But, no. They had to call it the British Nat(Z)ional Party. (pity for them the Scots have their own SNP. So, whilst the BNP goes on about the 'ethnic British', the SNP (rooting for ethnic Scots) wants nothing to do with anything 'British'. The BNP should be made illegal until it changes its stance on what it calls 'immigrants' -- it wants to offer them the chance to leave. It classes all non-'ethnic British', even if British-born, as 'immigrants'. Thus even 7th generation Jews (who are not 'ethnic British')would be classed as 'immigrants'. This is not very far from the Nazi position in pre-war Germany (where Hitler's 'academics' went to great lengths to root out Jews who had totally integrated into German society). How can a political party be allowed to operate in Britain (and indeed call itself 'British') when it wants fellow British citizens to leave the country? BNP is against people for what they are (black/Asian/Jewish etc) rather than for what they believe in. For that reason it should be banned.

Perhaps you have a 'new edition', compiled by your twitchy leader. Oh, and the other difference between the 'Koran' and the BNP manifesto? The manifesto doesn't rhyme! Was uncle Adolf closer to the BNP manifesto or to the 'Koran'? (I defy you to say that Churchill was wrong to fight against the Nazis). How comes the holocaust was perpetrated by an ideology based on ethnicity? (Now read the BNP manifesto again). The Mein Kampf led to the holocaust. Why is it that even after 1400 years of the Quraan nothing remotely equivalent to the holocaust has happened in any Muslim country? And btw Christianity is NOT a native British religion. (perhaps that's why there are all those self-professed 'pagans' on the BNP membership list)

Although I find the BNP and evrything they stand for utterly abhorrent, I still don't think this list being published is altogeter a good thing. Most people will look at the list out of curiosity, but no doubt you'll get the small minority who will misguidedly think it's OK to harass these people, and more worryingly their children. It's not difficult to imagine some idiot thinking it's ok to throw a brick through the window of someone on the list and the said brick hitting a child inside the house. I'm disheartened by the comments posted by some of my bretheren. Where is your humanity? God will judge these people (BNP members) for the divisions they cause; It's not our place to do so.

Er the Armenian or Asyrian genocides? — PaulDunno what the "asyrian genocide" is, but the Armenian one was not 'Muslim', it was unequivocally nationalist (nation states didn't really exist before the treaty of Westphalia, and btw, the concept of 'race' is a modern European one), which most theorists identify as one of the key progenitors of contemporary racisms. Just wanted to say as nasty as the party is and their ideologies, there is no excuse for violence. The last thing this list should do is get vigilantes targetting mambers' homes and causing damage, as someone quite rightly said, hat if there is a child inside the house ho is innocent and gets hurt. Getting back on topic. I'm in favour of the publication of BNP members so long as it does not lead to political violence. That said I would also welcome the publication of members of Islamist organisations such as HbT and extreme left wing organisations all are poisonous. What has depressed me here are the apologies for genocide. The Armenians were unarmed (Christians under Islam cannot bear arms) and they were slaughtered by the Ottoman Caliphate, later the young Turks. Nick said no genocide had ever occurred in a Muslim country yet the Armenian, Assyrian and now Darfur genocides are and were exactly that. I cannot be bothered to respond to all that Shan said Re Christian genocide as it makes no sense nor does it have a bearing in fact. So called 'Christian' leaders may have done evil deeds, history shows other Christians stopped them. The big killers of the 20th century, Marxism and Nazism were atheist.

The Racist British National Party has lost its membership list - the whole thing has been published online. How does Griffin expect to lead the country if he can't even secure his own members. The list includes names, addresses, 'phone numbers and email addresses of all members up to September 2008. Many entries also contain more personal comments about jobs or hobbies. That's how we know that that BNP members include receptionists, district nurses, amateur historians, pagans, line dancers and a male witch.
