A recent report was unveiled by the intelligence branch of Britain's Ministry of Defense, MI5, on extremists' enclaves in UK. The document claims that the main extremist concentrations, with thousand of extremists, mainly, of Asian origins, are in London, Birmingham and, notably Luton. The MI5 statement is not the first of it's kind, last year Jonathan Evans, MI5 chief, announced that there were at least 2,000 people in Britain who posed a threat to its national security because of their support for terrorism. In an attempt to map the stance of terrorism in UK and inquire about the relationship between British Muslims and violence, IslamOnline.net (IOL)'s European Muslims Page will host Asghar Bukhari, a senior member of Muslims Public Affairs Committee (MPACUK), in a live dialogue on Tuesday, November 18, at 12:00 pm GMT. Asghar Bukhari has been serving as a senior member of MPACUK since 2000. MPACUK was set up, mainly, to combat attacks against the Palestinian people within the Media. However, after September 11th MPACUK broadened its remit to tackle Islamaphobia and other conflicts around the world. MPACUK pioneered political democratic engagement which resulted in a shift in British Muslims' attitudes towards understanding the power of political engagement as a key to changing both foreign policy and tackling more local issues concerning the Muslim community. Bukhari was also part of the strategic decision makers who moved MPACUK to teach Muslims that a political and intellectual media "Jihad" was the number one priority of Muslims in Britain. Giving the first theological argument to the Muslim masses that challenged an apathetic mindset to attacks against them. In ground breaking but controversial strategy, Bukhari challenged the masjids to reform and blamed the leadership within the Islamic institutions for the decay within the Muslim community and the powerless disorganized responses to challenges faced by Muslims in UK. He maintains that no other single thing could benefit the Muslims more than forcing the masjids to become active community hubs rather than simple prayer halls. Join us live at 15:00 Makkah time, 12:00 GMT, or send us your questions ahead of time through European Muslims' e-mail. Source: islamonline.net Readers have left 2 comments.

@F. Cockburn:
Why would a muslim own shares in a bank.
Usury is forbidden in Islam. Islamic Finance is the only way forward.
