The BNP said that it will hold a rally in Stoke-on-Trent on September 20 to protest about the case and Staffordshire Police’s handling of the long-running neighbours' dispute. Khan, 49, had been cleared of murder but was found guilty of manslaughter after a jury heard that he stabbed Mr Brown, 52, with a kitchen knife during a row on the pavement. Judge Simon Tonking said that although Khan was acting in defence of his own son, his action in stabbing Mr Brown went beyond that which was reasonable. The far Right has portrayed Mr Brown as the "first nationalist victim of Islamic jihad against Great Britain". Stoke's BNP councillors shouldered the coffin at his funeral, which is posted on YouTube. Michael Coleman, a BNP councillor in Stoke, where the far-right party is now placed second only to Labour in the popular vote, said: "We have a man here who has been murdered in the street. It is an outrageous betrayal of justice. Staffordshire Police . . . go softly with ethnic minorities [unlike] the indigenous population. We won't put up with being treated like this." The Khans were given a panic button after Mr Brown’s teenage son Ashley beat his middle-aged Asian neighbour unconscious. The police had attempted mediation between the two families but found Mr Brown "immovable". This story has been in the media for a few weeks, and from what I have seen and heard this man 'Brown' appears to have been a nasty piece of work. The fact he was part of the BNP probably made his racist mind even worse, and it must have been very unpleasant to have been living near him. However, you cannot take a knife to someone without running the risk of breaking the law, and sadly this seems to have been the case.

From what has been stated in the media reports about this incident during the court trial, it is evident that the asian man acted in defence of his son who was being attacked by the deceased.
These neighbour disputes lead to tragedy in many cases all over the u.k,this became a lead story becaue it involved two sections of our communites not on the best of terms. But for nick griffin to make political gain out of this show his desperation to create hatred between communties.

But accidently stabbing someone who has attacked your family before and is assaulting your son is a diffrent matter as reported in the media during the court proceedings. The deceased had the the gentlemans son in a headlock and was attacking him, the asian gentleman put the knife rightly or wrongly to the deceaseds neck and told him to let him go,at this moment while the deceased and the asian mans son were struggling the deceased fell backwards and the knife cut his neck. The asian gentleman from day one admitted what had happened but the crown prosection wanted to do him for murder at trial he was found guilty of manslaughter. This murder was a tragedy for both families as one has lost his life and the other will spend years in jail for a situation that he had no desire to put himself in.

The taking of life is always seen as a sadness but lets look at the entire episode of this tragedy. Mr Khan a hardworking family man - takes pride in spending his earnings in extending his property. Mr Brown enjoys booze and wasting his money - feels hatred towards Mr Khan and what he stands for.. The Police turn up and know Brown is in the wrong but decide to use the CPS system - no independent witnesses / insufficient evidence - does this ring a bell? Mr Brown becomes more aggressive and abusive and becames brave - Mr Khan reverts to the only means that are feasible survival - and ends up with Brown no more - I'm surprised they sentenced Mr Khan - Yes Brown is dead - he is no more - deceased - gone to where the dead parrots go - but no loss to society and as for Khan - no more the abuse / no more the threats / no more suffering -

First of all Colin the Netherland's do hate the English i have two dutch friends who can't stand the English so no am not suprised at that fact. In fact when i was in Holland earlier this year, when i told people i was from the UK (after a reasonable chat) they frowned or just give me the 'evils' now i don't know why this is?
Secondly whether an action of an individual is an act of aggression or self defence (i.e. provocative conduct by the deceased) should be vested in the Jury who are normal people without any legal knowledge, the Judge will then pass a sentence, therefore as a law abiding citizen i believe justice has been done.

The British National Party has said that it will hold a rally in honour of its first claimed martyr, whose Asian killer was jailed for eight years for manslaughter yesterday. Keith Brown, a father of eight and friend of the party leader, Nick Griffin, was stabbed to death by his neighbour Habib Khan, a Muslim community leader. A judge said that the dead white man and his skinhead son had both been involved in acts of racial aggression towards the Khan family.
