question_mark.jpgEveryday in the media, there seems to be a new story attacking Muslims in some way. We always seem to be the hot topic of debate and frankly I’m getting quite fed up with it.

It seems that I can’t pick up a newspaper or turn on the TV, without Muslims being mentioned in some way or another.

I wouldn’t mind if what I saw was portraying Muslims in a positive light, but this is very rarely the case.

As much as I say I’m fed up with the media coverage we receive, I’m even more annoyed with Muslims not doing anything about it.

This month alone, I have interviewed a MP, wrote to a newspaper and tried to make all those I know aware of what they can do to stop what is happening to Muslims today.

I feel it’s my problem and as a Muslim it's my duty to be part of the solution, in the problems we face.

Surely then, if it’s my problem as a Muslim, why isn’t it yours?

What are you going to do today to stop the way we are treated by the Media?

If you cared, you would stand up and tackle those who attack us. If you cared you would help yourself. So why don’t you?

"And what has come over you that you fight not in the cause of Allah, and for those weak, ill-treated and oppressed among men, women, and children, whose cry is: ‘Our Lord! Rescue us from this town whose people are oppressors, and raise for us from You one who will protect, and raise for us from You one who will help."
Quran (4:75)

You don't have to write campaign letters. Most newspaper websites have forums and they ALWAYS invite comment about a Muslim story. Why not submit yours?

It IS essential to write campaign letters, whether as individuals or as part of a group/organisation. Tne more letters/emails/phone calls that are made, the stronger the impact
