Letter from the Public: Muslims Heading Towards A Crisis Point Print E-mail
Thursday, 17 January 2008

target.jpgFirst, as a media watcher, I'm aware that a non-stop onslaught has been in progress against Muslims in the media for the last week or so, with Nazir-Ali's comments constituting but one story. This comes hard on the heels of two apparently Islamophobic murders. As IslamOnline recently reported, some European Muslim leaders feel 2008 could be the 'make or break' year for Muslims. That's my feeling, too.

Second, I think MPACUK needs to focus itself if we are going to defeat this menace. Palestine is a burning issue for you, I know, and arguably their need is more pressing that ours. But if we don't see off this latest media campaign against us, I can envisage a return to the 1970s, with violent Islamophobic racist attacks an everyday event, particularly if the economic situation in the UK gets dodgy.

Ma's-salaama

I agree we are perilously close to a tipping point where the effects of the media demonisation of Muslims will accelerate rapidly, with discrimination and violent attacks back to 1970s levels - and beyond. If the economy hits the rocks as predicted this year public opinion will be more open to focusing on scape-goating Muslims for all the ills of society.

However I think exposing and defeating the Zionist lobby is the only effective solution both to free Palestine, and to stop the Islamophobic onlsaught here. Most of the leading figures fuelling this growing Islamophobia are motivated by their committment to Zionism - Melanie Phillips is a classic example. Only by exposing their Israel-first agenda can we break the grip they have on British public opinion.

But we can't expect MPACUK on its own to bring us back from the brink of disaster. All Muslims and Muslim organisations have to be woken up to the urgency of the danger we face - and PRIORITISE the struggle for our defence accordingly.

I think that we should stand up for Britain, seek common ground with the Jews, and not target the Zionists in general, but seek solutions with them.
We should also legally and intellectually challenge those who have started or jumped on the Islamaphobic bus everytime. These include, amongst others:
Tony B'liar
Jack Straw (''take your veil off''- he didn't say remove your wigs and reveal your real hair to orthodox women of his own religion who wear wigs when going outside)
Melanie Phillips, and Richard Littlejohn, both of the Daily Mail
Lord Carey (formerly the ineffectual Archbishop of Canterbury)

and the social climbers:
Bishop Nazi-Ali (the soon to be the Arch-Sycophant of Canterbury)
Trevor Phillips (not surprisingly a friend of Tony Blair) who also made disgraceful remarks about the Queen Mother after she passed away.

Unfortunately some fanatic Muslims in Europe have perpetrated mass murder in recent years. They have thereby tainted the reputations of their Muslim brothers and sisters. It is up to the Muslims of Europe to cleans themselves of these fanatics. Why are hate spouting Imams allowed to remain in positions of leadership throughout the Muslim communities of Europe? One might assume that they are held in high regard by their congregants. Is this the case? If this is not the case they must be removed now.

You mean like you have cleansed yourself from Bush and Blair - or the support you give to the aparthied state of Israel, or the propping of dictators (who agree with you)? .... I don't think Muslims have half as much to cleanse as some Europeans do.

"Palestine belongs to the Arabs in the same sense that England belongs to the English or France to the French. It is wrong and inhuman to impose the Jews on the Arabs... Surely it would be a crime against humanity to reduce the proud Arabs so that Palestine can be restored to the Jews partly or wholly as their national home." Mahatma Gandhi

Barbarossa above feels that the short comings of other communities absolves the Muslim communities of Europe from dealing with the violent fanatics among them. Barbarossa’s attitude if widely held by Europe’s Muslims can only lead to grief for all concerned Muslims and non-Muslims alike.

Barbarossa above suggests that the short comings of some other communities absolves European Muslims of their responsibility to act against the fanatics in their midst. If this attitude is widely shared by Europe’s Muslims it can only lead to grief for all concerned Muslim and non-Muslim alike.

To stop anti-Muslim hysteria getting to the 'tipping-point', we have to persuade sisters that jilbaab-wearing makes muslims a persecution magnate.

To the brothers we have to say: not having a beard doesn't make you a kaffir. And you don't become an unbeliever if you don't roll up yout trousers.

To the masjids we have to say: you don't have to broadcast the Azaan on loud hailers in a pagan country. Why don't you use mobile phone/e-mail alerts when its time for salaat?

And get involved in the public affairs of your country: social issues;green issues; economic issues; health issues; foreign affairs; media; education etc. You can make a start by following MPAC, becasue that's what they are doing.

the so called christians of britian have to deal with the facts that they voted into power a known war criminal and warmonger whose actions lead to the deaths of hundreds of thousands in iraq.
so less of the patrionising please and BTW brian what are you doing about violent and evil pedos as this is a overwhelmingly white christian mens problem.
