MPACUK London battle on in our pre-emptive lobbying campaign where we are currently engaging local mosques to petition their local MPs to ensure that the detention without trial time limit is not increased. We recently updated readers of our liaison with a Mosque in Redbridge to educate and more importantly activate the congregation to take action against the proposal – local MPs need to be lobbied to defend our human rights and vote against this draconian law! Alhamdollillah, in just over 4 days the Mosque were able to collate over 400 signatures from the constituency! Now that’s what we call instant mobilisation! May Allah SWT reward them immensely in their efforts in the political Jihad and help them in their future endeavours, ameen.
Below MPACUK congratulate the Mosques who have worked with us in this cause.
Asalamu Alaikum WarahmatuAllay Wabarakatu,
We hope this email reaches you and your community in the best of health and Iman.
On behalf of everyone from the Muslim Public Affairs Committee, London branch, we would like to sincerely thank you for your recent participation and assistance in the project ‘Oppose Extending Detention without Trial’.
Alhamdollillah, it is pleasing to see such level of commitment and support given to this worthy project to educate and activate the congregation in order to help them defend their civil rights. We congratulate you and are happy that your Mosque has taken action to support the campaign.
Whatever the response from Mike Gapes may be with regards to the petition, your Mosque has achieved significant results by raising awareness of this issue within your congregation, and ensuring that the local MP knows that the Muslim community are going to be monitoring his actions closely. We would appreciate you informing us when Mike Gapes does respond to you.
The Muslim Public Affairs Committee wishes you all the best in your future endeavours, for the betterment and advancement of Islam and your accomplishment in any other causes you take part in the future. Ameen. We look forward to working with you again in the future, insh'Allah.
Yours sincerely,
MPACUK, London Branch

Why do Anti-Terror laws have a disproportional effect on the Muslim Community?
Dr Bari says that Islamic/Muslim Terrorism doesn't exist.
He says they are just "terrorists".
On Wednesday, Sir Alan West did admit that he did not feel that there is any need to extend this period, before being reprimanded and pulling rank behind Gordon Brown less that two hours later. How pathetic is that?
