London Branch Campaign Diary: Another Mosque is activated! Print E-mail

jihadlogo.jpgAnother Jummah, another mosque, another attempt at protecting my brothers and sisters from injustice.

As you may know, London MPACers have been working tirelessly in reviving the mosques and making them into the beacons of light that they should be, so it was back to that mosque we met at our branch meeting last week...

I got to the mosque and sat in the second row trying to search for the committee members we spoke to. I just wanted to make sure they had remembered to make an announcement about the petition, and before I could find them, what did I see? A young man walks in with 20 or so photocopies of the petition and handed them to the Imam! Straightaway the Imam stopped his sermon and urged everyone to sign the petition and then also announced that there would be a brother - me - standing outside so that those who did not get a chance to sign could still make their voices heard (and he announced this in both Urdu and English!).

Incidently, this was a small mosque with a congregation of about 250 Muslims, so I consider it a great achievement that in the space of 30 minutes I collected over 180 signatures, and what was even more amazing was that some brothers took some blank sheets so that they could get their family, friends and work colleagues to sign them too!

The London branch of MPACUK has been working tirelessly to help our brothers and sisters. If you too want to defend them then please join us today in our struggle for the truth.

Contact us at info@mpacuk.org to join MPACUK in campaigning against increasing the maximum limit of pre-charge detention.

Don't forget to sign the online petition here
