I too was detained while travelling through New York last month. It was a real pain in the neck. I asked why I was detained and I was told it is random selection. I am a Canadian, European, Caucasian, male, aged 49. Maybe they are picking on Canadians too.

It good to see that MP's who supported the war and the subsequent legislation, are now being subjected to the impact and treatment that many everyday individuals experience day in and day out, being detained unnecessarily often missing their flights,with no recourse for justice.

It's not just Muslims that Malik needs to stand up for. Attacks on basic democratic rights also affect white and non-Muslim people although Muslims are the excuse for such attacks.
