The u.s.a has a policy of creating fear in its people,to control them.
the facts speak for themselves more people are murdered in the u.s.a every 6 months then the number alleged to have been killed by alciada. shahid malik say she is dissapointed so what will he do about it,a usual nothing. since the majority of state terrorists in iraq and afghan are americans, should americans visiting muslims nation not be tested for explosives and questioned as to whether they killed or tortured any people while they were there.

He is a first Muslim Minister in the British Governemnt and claimed £185 K. for his work. He has double standards.

Shahid Malik neither belongs to Pakistani community nor belong to native Britiish community. He was appointed to devide the already devided Muslim community. He does not represent Muslim community or British community. He should resign. He is not fit to be a spokesman for any community and certainly not MUslim or Pakistani community because he is unable to speak. read and write Urdu.

Shahid Malik has jut realised the Americans see him as just another muslim...maybe they've done him a favour. The sad thing is the US Govt and its related apparatus think humiliating many innocent muslims makes them big. It weakens their "cause" even more. And it brings them no closer to feeling safer about their terrorist activities worldwide. I understand why these random, multiple, misdirected searches are being carried out. The US Govt is well aware of the atrocities its regime has conflicted and continues to afflict on an ever widening population all over the world. Are we all stupid? How many million children have died already? How many millions of innocent people have been left, homeless, hungry, dehumanised and desperate due to the actions of global neo-Conservative fundametalists running the most powerful nations of the world...this includes US, Israel and Saudi Arabia.

"Shahid Malik has jut realised the Americans see him as just another muslim...maybe they've done him a favour." - should they have thought him better than anyone else then?
"I understand why these random, multiple, misdirected searches are being carried out. " - which demonstrates that you don't know why they are carried-out (or are in denial of the reasons).

I too was detained while travelling through New York last month. It was a real pain in the neck. I asked why I was detained and I was told it is random selection. I am a Canadian, European, Caucasian, male, aged 49. Maybe they are picking on Canadians too.

Well Well ..... It seems Mr Malik hasn't made many friends within the Community he is supposed to be serving.
Rise all you people as you have done on this occasion and unite against such regimes who aim to suppress your thoughts, ideology and way of life in the name of 'DEMOCRACY'. Mr Malik, I would strongly suggest some self analysis and seize this opportunity as a way of reaching out to the community who will help and support you, come what may.....Providing you understand their views and represent them in a POSITIVE and righteous manner. I call out to ALL Muslims to unite and voice their opinions in a CONSTRUCTIVE manner. I understand the sentiments you have but lets rise above this and avoid using ABUSIVE language. Finally Mr MALIK I really hope you experienced the belittling which many MUSLIMS go through when visiting the U.S.A. I am very familiar of going through such experiences but in what I call my own country the U.K. every time I return back to the U.K.

Shahid Malik is either a man of low intelligence or of low morality, I'm not sure which.
"I am deeply disappointed," he says "...I believe that British ministers and parliamentarians should be afforded more respect and dignity at USA airports." So he says it was wrong to detain him, ... but only because he's an MP. Is this man just stupid, or is he also evil?

Ah Shahid Malik - yes a man of many talents - one being a strong Yorkshire accent - "By Gum - Wheres me yorkshire pud?" Anyway to the article - being stopped by the USA authorities - answer is simple don't go there. And next time pay your own blink'n air fare and stop putting in expense claims that run into 5 zeros. I know curries are getting expensive but they aren't that expensive.....

It reminds me of the famous arab fable where the black Bulls decided to hand in the white Bull to the lion because they saw the white bull as a threat as it could be seen at night. they did not know that the lion will eventually hunt the black bulls down and eat them... I ask Shahid to return back to reality and not to be like the black bull trying to integrate with this false society, spy son muslim brother and hand over information about sincere brothers to the lions. please learn from this experience...

It good to see that MP's who supported the war and the subsequent legislation, are now being subjected to the impact and treatment that many everyday individuals experience day in and day out, being detained unnecessarily often missing their flights, with no recourse for justice.

It's not just Muslims that Malik needs to stand up for. Attacks on basic democratic rights also affect white and non-Muslim people although Muslims are the excuse for such attacks. Fact is that Shahid Malik is not only an Uncle Tom but also a right-wing New Labourite who will do anything to further his career.

Shahid Malik says he is deeply disappointed at being detained and searched by airport staff in Washington DC. Is the United States institutionally anti-Muslim or do Muslims just need to accept the fact that in the current climate they are more likely to be searched than other people? Zulfi Bukhari, CEO of the Muslim Public Affairs Committee, and Yasmin Qureshi discuss this pertinent topic.
