STOP! Don't Buy Israeli Dates! – MPACUK Northern branch Print E-mail
Friday, 28 September 2007

actionalert.jpgIt is our duty to oppose oppression in every way possible and the boycotting of Israeli dates must not be overlooked as one method of doing so. We would like our readers to look out for Muslim shops selling Israeli products and encourage them to stop.

"So whoever does an atom's weight of good will see it, And whoever does an atom's weight of evil will see it." [Quran; Al-Zalzalah 99:7-8]

Many Muslims stay loyal to Muslim-owned businesses, wanting to help them progress and prosper by purchasing their daily groceries from these shops. It is unfortunate that for the sake of a few pennies, these businessmen have forsaken the unity of ummah and spirit of Islam resorting to selling Israeli produce and thus indirectly staining their hands with Palestinian blood.

Allah says:

"You will not find a people who believe in Allah and the Last Day having affection for those who oppose Allah and His Messenger, even if they were their fathers or their sons or their brothers or their kindred. For those He has decreed within their hearts faith and supported them with spirit from Him. And We will admit them to the gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein they abide eternally. Allah is pleased with them, and they are pleased with Him - those are the party of Allah. Unquestionably, the party of Allah - they are the successful." [Quran; Al-Mujaadilah 58:22]

Following on from our previous Action Alert we are posting our findings from some shops in Manchester and would urge readers to hold the shopkeepers to account. We also highlighted the issue here as well as in this article.

Here are some packaging pictures from Israeli-sourced dates:

Just called Naz cash and carry - the man actually said - we dont care if its from Israel - I blew my top!

He then went on to say - if you want to be muslim go live in another country!

I then asked him if he fasted - he replied 'yes'

Then I asked him - 'does he not feel ashamed that he is fasting and selling israeli products to people who are fasting'

All he could reply was 'i dont care, thats up to them!'

Apparently I was the first person to call!!!!

I am a little perplexed at the astonishment that some contributors express at the indifference that one or two shops express. Most of these retail outlets are likely to be fairly small scale and low tech, they undoubtedly can see amongst their customers and people on the street Muslims carrying high value products which clearly contain Israeli made products. Yet no one challenges these people.
Now they are challenged about selling Israeli dates which contribute little or nothing to the Israeli economy (many Kibbutzim have to be subsidised to keep going).
Why should these shop keepers care if those around them don't care about their own purchases of Israeli products? Surely if dates are to be boycotted, then so should all other products emanating from Israel?

Of course they ought to be boycotted! Well Done! Now will you be able to produce an article for MPACUK urging people to boycott those products too? Let's not be lazy and pin point on others. One step at a time please!!!

I am somewhat astounded by this article because I believe it breaks laws on religious/racial incitement.

I can agree with the right to call for a boycott of Israel dates.

But, surely this article specifically targets Asian/Muslim businesses only, when there are many shops which sell Israeli dates.

We can almost call it incitement since posters have admitted to calling the shops with the phone numbers provided and arguing with the shop-keepers.

What if some fool were to take more dramatic action or be motivated to violence?

Can you imagine if the BNP had an article that named ONLY Asian/Muslim shops and called for them to be boycotted.

Think!

Israeli Propagandists with funn: Quote

...who sabotage and intrude on MPACUK's web-page by criticising the boycott ought to know the following:

1. Mahatma Gandhi's boycotts were about low-tech and small value products and it can be argued that they did little to hurt the British Empire , but as history knows the small steps he started went a long way . It is only a tragedy of our times that the Muslim community does not know today what Gandhi's followers knew in the 1940's

2. What "high-value" products does Israel claim to produce (M & S underwear?)? If we Muslims knew about them we would boycott them too. Whilst these Israeli agents keep mysteriously silent about the high-value products what can be detected is a presumptious attempt by Israelis to lay a claim to all high-value products of the Christian West. I am surprised they do not include Taiwan and China too.

3. An attempt by Asian Muslims to educate other Asian Muslims about not profiting the enemy is not tantamount to racial hatred because we are all the same race. Besides most of Ramadan shopping ( as a prequel to Eid ) is only done within the community (except some idiots and traitors who go and benefit the Hindu community with their Eid shopping).

Finally, as a Muslim I think it is better not to fast than to break that fast with Israeli produce.
God only loves those Muslims who love their fellow Muslims.

Israeli Propagandist, you pose the question ". What "high-value" products does Israel claim to produce (M & S underwear?)? If we Muslims knew about them we would boycott them too. "

OK then. I reserached google and came up with this website (just one of several thousand with the same info) lookup "advocatesforisrael - dot org/achievements dot html"

Quote:-

"The cell phone was developed in Israel by Israelis working in the Israeli branch of Motorola, which has its largest development center in Israel."

"Most of the Windows NT and XP operating systems were developed by Microsoft-Israel. The Pentium MMX chip technology was designed in Israel at Intel."

"Voice mail technology was also developed in Israel. The technology for the AOL Instant Messenger was developed in 1996 by four young Israelis."

During that last visist by Bill Gates to Israel he said:-

""There is a greater concentration of talented hi-tech manpower here in comparison to other countries, almost to the extent of Silicon Valley," Gates said.

On his visit, Gates specifically touted Israel's achievements in information security. He said he also was impressed that so much of the country's population is computer literate.

Gates said he had come to learn about the Israeli market, where Microsoft has some $120 million in annual sales, the Globes newspaper reported.

The agreement Gates signed with the government promises cooperation between Microsoft and the chief scientist at Israel's Science and Technology Ministry. The agreement stipulates that money provided by Microsoft will be allocated to start-ups; the companies also will receive help from Microsoft in strategizing new ideas and launching them in the global market.

"We have a great relationship with the government, and look forward to more of that," Gates said. "I wish I had come sooner. I'm glad I'm here now."

I didn't cover Cisco Israel who design routers on which the internet runs.

So, you have Microsoft, Cisco, Intel & Motorola.

I don't shill for Israel, I am merely pointing-out the hypocrisy of boycotting Israeli products. It doesn't work and it has no effect.

Each riyal, dirham …etc. used to buy their goods eventually becomes bullets to be fired at the hearts of brothers and children in Palestine.. To buy their goods is to support tyranny, oppression and aggression." -Sheikh Yusuf Al-Qaradawi

Now search your home and your local shops... check out the people you know. Do they own or stock or trade in any of these companies products? Ask yourself what value a few boxes of dates against these products?

It's much easier to boycott dates than other Israeli products obviously. RSD doesn't mention the considerable advances in medicine that Israeli scientists have made. Boycotters should check that the latest procedures and medicines they use were not developed in Israel.

In fact...haven't we seen this somewhere before? The Nazis daubed Stars of David on Jewish-owned businesses whilst blaming them for all their ills/shortcomings/failures. Sound vaguely familiar?

george you are forgetting something nazis may have daubed satrs on jewish owned businesses and blamed them for their ills.
but we are taking about facts not assertions or myths, foreigners have invaded and ethnically cleansed palestinians from their homes and taken over their homes and land.
those remaining have been living under daily oppresion-torture-death and subjugation for the last 40 or more years.
we are dealing with facts not fantasies, you may wish to acknowledge that much when making your own assertions.

George is absolutely correct that the list I provided is far from comprehensive, but it is indicative of the degree to which one has to go if one wants to boycott products associated with Israel and Zionism. Everytime anyone flies across Turkey / Israel they are using Israeli radar / traffic control services. Almost every banana, and other soft fruit, from the Caribbean and Central America is transported and handled using Israeli services and equipment.

However I disagree with the boycott altogether simply because it ultimately serves no purpose unless your sole aim is to remove the State of Israel and cause the Palestinians of every hue even more suffering. Those people that promote the idea of the delegimisation and destruction of Israel have little thought to the consequences of their actions, and are generally indifferent to the potential suffering of the people in the region. Imagine what would follow if one day the Israelis are told that their state is no longer recognised and all their national assets have been transfered to the Palestinian National Suthority? Undoubtedly a civil war would follow, but this time it would not be like the Balkans conflict where the weapons used were principally of WW2 vintage. Instead on one side their would be Palestinians (and maybe some allies) with little more than a mixture of ex-USSR weapons and on the other would be the Jews (and their allies) with modern NATO standard weapons. No Arab airforce or army is capable of taking on the Israelis. The EU wouldn't invade to protect the Palestinians and the US certainly wont. Anyone like to gusess the outcome?
I also oppose the boycott because when a Palestinian state does come into being it will need access to a wealthy Israeli market to kick-styart its own economy and to provide employment. I would remind everyone of the enormous suffering caused now that the Palestinians cannot go to work in Israel. They have been replaced by Romanians, Czechs, Turks, Thais and Chinese.

There is a vast amount of verbage and posturing regarding the Palestinians, little or none of it thought out. By all means seek to bankrupt Israel or destroy, but be prepared to live with the consequences and accept responsibility for them.

Rod - I am wholly unaware that the Israelis have projected any period for their survival as a state and the analogy with Nazi Germany is wholly misplaced. Germany from 1933 - 1945 was an economic disaster waiting to happen. It was only through seizing the products of subjugated nations that Germany was able to survive. Had Germany not gone to war in 1939 it is very doubtful that the Nazi regime would have lasted more than a couple of years as their economy was built entirely upon credit manipulation. The Nazi regime lasted just 12 years.
Israel on the other hand has survived for nearly 60 years and despite the many threats has not gone under. While the economic standing of the Palestinians and Israelis was approximately equal in 1948, the Israelis have left the Palestinians behind. What the Israelis understood absolutely is that all arms of government must be subject to scrutiny and the rule of law. The Palestinians have yet to achieve this state.
As for no amount of oppression can stop a people forever is to ignore history. Anglo-Saxon domination of the Welsh was never challenged by Welsh resistance to any serious degree, it was only reforms in Anglo-Saxon attitudes that provided them with legal equality. National groups such as the Lemkes and Kashubians are long forgotten. The propsoects for the Palestinians are not good so long as they continue with their present policies. These involved not only Israel but also Jordan, whose legitimacy they have challenged. The Palestinians are weak and getting weaker. They have failed to form an effective body politick through which they can promote their interests. Instead what they have are two distinct groups which largely represent the pre-Tanzimat power elites. These groups are like their predecessors of the 19th century - greedy, corrupt and willing to exploit anyone in order to gain more.

RSD jsut read your previous comment and you will see why the equation was made.
since the israeli existence is based and built upon suffering at the hands of german nazis,it is quite right to give that analogy as german nazis thought no one could defeat them.
so you think israelis have not done what you say german nazis did,are they not subjugating the palestinian nation, are they not using the resources of the palestinian nation.
thank you for helping prove my anology is correct.

I always find this point that Isarael was built on The Holocaust and that Palestinians are paying for The Holocaust to be a myth that has popularity.

First of all the Jewish National Home was established in 1920 by the Mandate For Palestine.

In 1948 the State of Israel was declared.

The Holocaust was 1933 to 1945. During that time immigration to "Israel" was limited and so only a few thousand fled to Israel.

During 1948 to 1950 approximately 520,000 Jews emigrated to Israel but these weren't fleeing from The Holocaust - they went o Israel because it had been declared a State in 1948.

Israel has 6m Jews and so the 100,000 who fled to Israel (mostly illegally) hardly constitutes the reason for the declaration of Israel as a State. It has more to do with the British leaving and their defeat of the Arab Armies that attacked them.

Ascribing the formation of Israel to The Holocaust simply doesn't hold water against the facts.

If anyone wishes to post some FACTS to dispute the point then go ahead.
