Iran - Shame On You! Print E-mail

elder.jpg The state of the Muslim world leads very little comfort for those of us who are trying to improve the lot of the oppressed and destitute throughout the Muslim world. The drums of war against Iran are starting to beat and with every day they get louder.

Muslims in the west still haven’t focused their energy, time and money to ensure that any foreign policy debate on whether Iran is an opposed to UK interests, or Israel’s and where the two nations (Israel and UK’s) interest depart. And even adding to the debate ‘can a Middle Eastern nation be critical of Israel without it being considered harmful to British or Western interests?’

No, Western Muslims have not made that case, but before we do, let us recognise Iran for what it is. In this time with Iran being surrounded in both Afghanistan and Iraq with American Armies, Republican and Democratic Presidential candidates tripping over themselves to talk about pre-emptive strikes Iran starts the mass deportation of Afghan refugees! Surely a case of ‘how not to win the moral high ground’.

The political argument from Iran is unsophisticated and easily destroyed, they are increasingly seeing the Afghans as a nuisance and a potential “fifth column” in case of a war. So to avoid confusion, ‘kick them out of Iran’ and send them to a border town and let them rot. The case of unprotected children some as young as 12, young girls forcibly removed without their families or belongings, Husbands and wives left with nothing are herded into quiet desert border-crossing and given, by the UN, the sum of $6 and a phone call.

Well if the Iranians didn’t want a nuisance, an uneducated mass of refugees, they had 20 years to provide education and help those refugees integrate. The result would have been a loyal and grateful community that would never consider itself other then part of Iran’s multicultural tapestry. The Afghan community that could have helped protect Iran and rebuild Afghanistan. Instead Iran chose to keep the refugees and then treat them with disdain.

Hardly humane, definitely not Islamic and definitely not worthy of the name ‘Islamic Republic’ of Iran. The British, French, US and every other Western non-Muslim nation treats refugees, regardless of their government’s ‘War on Terror’, with more compassion and humanity than any Muslim country has in the past 200 years.

For Britain to forcibly remove a 12 year old and leave the boy at a border outpost would be unimaginable, both libertarians, the left, the centre right, majority of the media and the public would not stand for it, and no British government would do it.

Yet Iran without a single dissenting voice, perpetrate against fellow Muslims, the worst kind of inhuman treatment and not one senior Islamic scholar, not one newspaper, or minister condemn it. It is not an Islamic Republic, it is another Middle Eastern tyranny, a banana republic, which has left Islam and its guiding principle and turned the Allah’s beautiful religion into bigotry worthy of the Saudis or Zionists. The difference between the Muslims of today and Zionists of today is that Zionists welcome the Jewish Diaspora in to Israel and these so called Iranian Muslim leaders treat humans like an effluent to flush away without any compassion or even an after thought.

The Afghans like the Palestinians and Kurds have had a difficult history, destined to be the play-things of the great powers. Born into the wrong region to powerless and helpless people they are treated worse by Muslims who should protect them, than the Crusading western armies that Muslims now fear and revile. The paradox cannot be lost on anyone who looks.

If Iran expects the Muslim constituencies in the West to rally around and try to stop it being bombed ‘into the dark ages’ it has an obligation to behave as truly Islamic state and drag itself out of the primitive mindset that puts no value on human lives and even less on the lives of Afghans. The Afghans have a right to live with dignity and safety and Iran and Pakistan have an obligation to provide that.

MPACUK will work to ensure that Zionists in the UK do not provoke a war with Iran but will never turn a blind eye to Iran’s unacceptable behaviour. Iran has an option either to reflect and hold the principles of Islam high or face a grim, friendless future where war is inevitable. Like the loud by ultimately failed attempts to stop the invasion of Iraq or the impotent Muslim voice to defend Palestine the Muslims will be in even less willing to activate for the sake of another barbaric regime. Islamic Republic of Iran, the joke’s on us.

Well done!!! you have joined the ranks of ProZionist Media by condamning Iran for a non issue, something which Pakinstan has been doing for several months. There are several articles available on this subject by "unbiased" Western & Asian journalist detailing valid reasons for this action, right of a soverign state.
Your irresponsible remarks will cost you little credibility you had achieved.

How can you say it is a non-Issue? Tell that to the poor Muslims being deported back to a hell hole?

Dont they even have any shame.

I support Iran against Israel any day, but that does not mean they cannot be held accountable for this disgrace.

If they call themselves Muslims, act like one, and more importantly be accountable like one!

The way they acted is shameful, full stop!

Lets see how many so called Muslim coutries (there are over 50 of those) stand against evil of Zionism/ Greed/ Salvery. Apart from Syria, Hamas in Palistine & Iran there isn't any. Most of shameless Muslims have sold their soul to devil. How many are supporting Hamas who won in 2006 by landslide victory and are taking on thugs of Fatah(see link, even US media admits http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070614/ap_on_re_mi_ea/fatah_s_failure)

So by condamning a country (remember the alliance between Syria, Hama/Palistine, Hizbullah/ Lebanon & Iran, you are taking the side of Satan (intentially or not! only time will tell). At a time when untiy among Muslims are of paramount importance, keeping in mind Israel & USA are funding Fatah, to destroy Hamas. A fact documented in the press many a times, same as so called liberal/ secular of Lebanon can't stand Hizbullah. Any enemy of Israel is enemy of US by American defination.
Remember, no matter how bad it may look on the face of it, its not a crime to return refugees back to their homeland.

To AbuZaid,

What a silly argument! Just because you may support a country does not mean you should back them even when they are in the wrong. Blind support is one of the causes of why Muslims are currently in such a sorry state of affairs.

One of the best forms of Jihad is speaking up against an oppressor, especially if that oppressor is a fellow Muslim.

Even Abu Bakr (ra), when taking the seat as Caliph, said that the Ummah are not obliged to follow him if they feel he is in the wrong.

The point I tried to make (hard work though as tunnel vision tends to take over better of some) was about MUSLIM UMMA UNITY, not the critism on one country or another. I have argued & critised with Iranians/ their policies on number of issues in the past, though there is a time & place. Again the point in my previous post discussed about the same issue. However in response I got more bashing... Lets see one can easily conclude that both Mr W & Syed would be of the opinion that Hamas should have just followed Israeli/ US policies & all their sufferings would have gone and Syria & Iran should do the same.
So Iran & Syria for supporting Hamas should pay the price!!!

Nice to see someone has spotted the common theme...Israelis look after jews who come there, Muslims often treat other muslims like dirt.

Time to take a leaf for your favourite bogeymen's book.

Iran has been the host to millions of Afghan refugees since the Soviet occupation (1979). It was also the host for millions of Iraqi refugees during the war launched by Iraq.

Currently border areas are being exploited by special US forces to destabilise Iran.

How would these facts affect your analysis? It seems that the history of Iran and refugees since 1979 has not been allowed to complicate your devastating critique. After all your view is that Iran's case is easily refuted. It becomes much easier when one ignores the facts.

I am sick of people like JA pretending Iran or any muslim country is beyond accountability!

they will never improve their in- human ways when people defend them.
Muslims are treated a million times better in the west, then they ever are in Muslim countries- ask yourself why!?

Because we Muslims allow it! - make excuses why its acceptable.

iran - stop acting like a bunch of barbarians to other muslimss iif you want the support of muslims in the west.

It is not a one way street!

And Muslims here - stop defending the tyrant and not rhe victims of the tyrants!

Its 'women only jihad' all over again. blame the people who are doing the right thing, and not the tyrants stopping them!

Well said MPAC.

Again I say that i will support Iran over Israel always, but ths is not about support, this is about right and wrong, and this is wrong!

Islam taughh us to stand up for the opppressed, not make excuses for the oppresor.

I do not support the arbitrary arrest of workers and students, the banning of trade unions and trade unionists, the imprisonment of stdent activists, the closure of newspapers and radio stations, the enforced wearing of hijab in especially the poor areas, the arrest of women who become prostitutes because they have to feed themselves and their families, the arrest and vigilante killing of people because of their sexual orientation. I could go on. I support Iranians who organise and mobilise around these issues. That would hardly qualify for support for Iran right or wrong. I support the political choices of the Iranian people without qualification but provide critical support for the political options taken by the Iranian government.

My submission remains that the devastating critique above is so because on the issue of the treatment of refugees the article has been drafted in a historical vacuum. As Muslims we tend seem to have an unmatched capacity to do that.

Those Saudi's must be very worried about the power status of Iran if the Iran war does not take place. But what did the Saudi's give us apart from Terrorism and expensive Haj tours in American hotels in Mecca and Medina. At least Iran, a Muslim country (so what if they are Shia) is showing leadership.

Iran is the fairest of all Muslim countries. That is not to say that it is a objectively a FAIR country but by far it is the fairest of them all. Then again the beacon of democracy, fairness and justice, yep that has been imperial giant, the US is hardly a fair country either the way it treats its own BLACKS and the way it is easily misled into illegal occupations/wars by its own fifth column.

Why don't we have a league to fairness of muslim countries if we are to prove that Iran is this and that.

I pity those who are posting such articles about Iran especially in the context of the Iran War debate - we Sunnis had our time to lead the Ummah. Let the Iranians lead the way as far as I am concerned.

And let Israel tremble with fear as Iran takes the leadership and contemplates actions that were too much for those disgusting Saudi leaders.
