As an American of Jewish decent, I am grateful for the freedom and opportunity to escape the small minded fear-based acceptance of angry agenda. It's so easy to know what's wrong with this Jew or that politician or this Islamic or that Jewish action. I will, under directions from my culture of freedom, continue to keep a human picture of Palestinians and Iraqis, mommies, daddies, marriage, scholarship, charity, these are not Jewish or Brittish or Islamist concepts. I cry for the folks who accept ignorant teenage angst exhibited by officials or extremests of all groups who are comfortable with another group's pain no matter the advantage for themselves. Concensus building, understanding, dialogue, caring for each other as humans, not blaming each other for all the ills in the world, knowing the conspiratory theories are invented where knowledge is too slow to emerge and advantage is singular and ego-based, rather than harmonic and fluid as natural systems. Maybe turmoil is inevitable, as hurricanes and tornadoes and avalanches and eruptions. But as an element of the universe, it should be within our power to know there is something better than winning or not losing, that playing, surviving, competeing, BEING is the key, not hatred, disappointment and bad info ! I am an idealist, went to Woodstock, worked in the school system and manage my own private business. I have worked positively with people of every age and from every culture. I am the norm, not a President, prime minister Imam or Rabbi. I have been taught to appreciate the values of others. I'm positive we all can live next door to each other, that economics would follow us in profit if we "fought" to get along The new fight- to get along despite previous experience to the contrary. I overcame dislexia and now teach the elements of language that illuminate the peculiarities that many extremely bright and creative individuals have not taken the time or had the balance to recognize the fundamental elements of . As they follow my example, sounding and therefore moving to the side of their brains that organize, they establish better habits which allow them to focus on word "chunks" and trust there is a formula for successful understanding. Practicing the pieces they took time with me to consider as essential, they experience the phenomenon of successful fluid decoding and word building for spelling. I suggest that this opportunity to experience success is way more possible than the angry among us believe. Whether we are understanding language or culture, survival or jihad, the more we take time to balance and see the enemy as relevant, worthy as ourselves to equal opportunity, and practice building together feeling the feelings people who get along feel, then history might grow in another direction. I will remain positive because I know of many projacts where Jews and Muslims, Israelis and Iranians work together and trust each other, beyond the rhetoric and pain of doubt. They share common hopes and enemies (ignorance of disease causes or hunger) and keep growing more connected as they live lives that run way more parralel than the violent activities captured and depicted by the media. I'll focus on what we have in common, no matter how much this leader or that tells me how opposite we are so that I'll vote for or read their account. I am here and writing because I sensed that this is a nonviolent opportunity to share hope as well as the problems and headlines of trouble. I love life, not winning. I do not wish for an Islam free world, and I get good and tired of my own cultures if I am closedin by it. Open my mind by opening yours. Know that there are many many Islamic and Jewish people who would do anything to get along, not win. tHERE IS NO WIN WHERE THE LOOSER LOSES THE OPPORTUNITY TO COMPETE. So, if you wish to build a today and tomorrow based on what we have in common, choose me as an example of American Jewery. I'm looking for all people who wish to help me prove we are all related, not separated. Thanks for reading my rant !
