Is the terror debate over-hyped? Asghar Bukhari was on Sky News recently debating whether the terror threat in Britain is being over played for political purposes. Dame Eliza Manningham-Buller, the head of the MI5 warned the terror threat to this country was "serious" and "growing". Her statements were typically outlandish with her suggesting that over 1,600 British Muslims are under surveillance as part of anti-terror operations. Asghar Bukhari too was capable of producing statistics and pointed out that of over one thousand arrests that have been made under anti-terror operations since 9/11, only twenty-seven have been found guilty and only nine of those found guilty have been Muslims. It's like the Niqab issue, since Jack Straw's unhelpful comments there has been a surge in people observing niqab, especially the young, educated and professional muslim sisters. Way to go sisters!

Well done and MPAC certainly seemed to be getting up the noses of the Zionists. Must be doing something right. If only Islamaphobia could be used in the way that anti semitism is used, the Muslims would have half of this government standing accused. I think that holocaust day should be only for the Jews to remember their dead, as that is what they want it to be known as, the Jews who were killed by Hitler. Perhaps the rest of us can remember the others who were killed by Hitler as well as the many millions who have be killed since by ruthless leaders, dictators and greedy people, incuding some Jews.

but I think Asghar didn't explain it sufficiently:
He gave David Irving £60 early after hearing that he was accused of anti-semitism. As Asghar said, he can't have known that Irving would be convicted, but he could have checked any of Irving's quotes and instantly seen how bad this guy was. The conviction wasn't a close call -- the guy was clearly racist and antisemitic.
So the outcome of the interview is that Asghar said he would fund someone (?anyone) accused of antisemitism. Which confers the obvious risk that he will end up funding some genuine antisemites.
But to end, the rest of the interview came accross much better.
Great Sky interview, Podcast bit i got a little bored and didnt listen to it all. Asghar and Mpac back to doing whats best taking on the issues and doing Islam justice. To all the people out there I would just like to say that thier are a million Sajjan's (so called experts) out there who spend thier lives bashing islam in an intelligent manner and it is our duty as muslims to ensure we are represented by the best amongst us, For way too long so called community leaders and pathetic islamic groups have allowed the promotion of pathetic politics for thier own or thier paymasters gains. We need to take back our communitys and prevent the decay which has been set in for the last 50 years.

I just listened to that - WOW, that was amazing. Asghar and Mpacuk way ahead of the game. Zionists we are comming for you! I truly see a bright future for the world. Young Britsh Muslim Men, who are articulate, professional, active in fighting for justice. All Young British Muslims should follow suit, you want role model, Asghar is your man. As a non muslim I never would have thought that i would give my money to a Muslim organisation. Mpac a cheque is comming your way.

Some of what you say it is spot on. However, when you fail to recognise or research properly the credentials of someone like David Irving - who has a very long history of anti-semitism and holocaust denial - It's a shame you don't put your hands up and say "I got it wrong".
You play into your enemy's hands and devalue your legitimate arguements. Those who applaud you are not those you need to persuade - it's the sceptics - who will now dismiss you as a one sided fanatic. That's not a good thing because the real value of your message is then lost. betcha won't publish this
