The European Union renewed its calls for a UN mission to be sent to Darfur, after worries that the violonce could spill over into Chad and the Central African Republic. The renewed violence has now left 350, 000 people cut off form humanitarian aid and another 100, 000 have been made refugees in the past 3 months.
As of yet, the African Union force have been unable to control the violence within the region. Whilst the UN has demanded that Sudan accept a UN force, Khartoum has opposed and will only accept the strengthening of the African Union Forces.
Since 2003, 2 million people have been ethnically cleansed, 300,000 people have been killed and 2.5 million have been displaced, whilst women and children are raped and tortured daily.
On Monday the US pushed for a bill which would expand peacekeeping operations in Darfur, but that bill was today rejected by the Sudanese government. Furthermore, the US Secretary of State, Condoleeza Rice, today called for an immediate ceasefire and the deployment of UN peacekeepers. Rice continued by saying that if the Sudanese government did not cooperate with the UN they could face confrontation. However, we all know that further conflict or threat of conflict is the last thing that the civilians need and it should be a move towards peace that is the primary aim.
In 2004 the US labelled the situation in Sudan as genocide.
Currently the situation has reached stalemate with the Sudanese government digging their heels in and many more civilians will continue to suffer. It makes it our job to continue to lobby our leaders to move quicker and further towards resolving the conflict, much as Bob Geldof did today by calling for Superpowers to acknowledge their role in helping to resolve the conflict. The conflict will only be resolved when the Sudanese government is forced to back down and the UN must be pressurised into acting swiftly.

PresidentWPM:
Conflict Creation.
One of the favourite pastimes of the Zionists is to create conflict between people sometimes of the same ethnic background like Muslims i.e. between Sunni and sheite.
What's happening in Darfur is reported to be between Janjaweed and everyone else with the Sudanese Government blamed for all this.
Consider these points: 1. Sudan is a predominantly Muslim country 2. Sudan is somewhat against the US; the latter having bombed Sudan in the recent past not quite "to the stone age" yet. 3. The US is pushing the bill and will ultimately invade Sudan under plausible yet false pretences like they invaded Iraq when Saddam faild to demolish Iran.
It seems to me that Sudan is being punished for standing up to US-Zionist attrocities around the world.
And, the US will have to demolish Iran by itself. Have you noticed the "Uncovering Iran" series of programmes on the BBC. They seem to be softening up public opinion against Iran so that they will agree that Iran should be bombed further back than the stone age.
It seems they have succeeded with Sudan. When you ask anyone on the street where's Darfur? They probably don't have a clue. MPAC seems to have swallowed their argument without analysis.
The Pres.
Sudan:
We do not want to see, UN or western troops going into Darfur to cause the kind of butchery we have seen in Afghanistan and Iraq, based on incredible lies, deception and propaganda. The figures quoted above are as credible as the 45 minute claim made by Tony Blair. This individual seems to have a particular agenda which wants to help the aggression of the USA to continue in the Muslim world. Where was this individual when the assault took place in Lebanon which destroyed the entire country along with countless civilians? Making merry with kebab and donut I suppose.
The message does not seem to enter the bulky skull of this individual that the Muslims will not help bring about another Abu Gharib, with absolute carnage of a sovereign nation. I suggest to Mpac that you remove this person from writing an article for your site. Most of it is cut and paste from propagandist sources which does not help any of us.
