Pope should take heed from Mel Gibson Print E-mail
Thursday, 21 September 2006

There is nothing that inflames the souls of Muslims more than  insulting the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him (pbuh) and degrade the Islamic faith. The Pope's recent remarks at a German University did both. His quote quote of a 14 century monarch's reference to the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) as being evil and inhuman shows a deep rooted bias against Islam. It is scary to me as a Muslim that those words were uttered by the highest Christian authority in the world.

The Pope's remarks show disrespect toward the world's 1.3 billion Muslims. Pope Benedict should have known that respect can turn enemies into friends and disrespect can make enemies out of friends.

The Pope should learn how to make an apology from Mel Gibson. When Mel Gibson recently made some offensive remarks toward Jews, he issued several apologies, even though he was drunk at the time. Unlike the Pope's response, Mr. Gibson never said "I am sorry for the Jewish reaction to my statement." He said, "I am sorry, I made a mistake." He expressed remorse and asked for forgiveness.

Here are two short stories from the life of the Prophet (pbuh) through which the Pope can get a glimpse of the true character of whom the Muslims believe to be the prophet of God.

1- When a funeral procession passed in front of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), he stood up out of respect. When he was told the person in the coffin was a Jew and not a Muslim, he replied, "Was it not a living [soul]?"

2- There was a man who always threw trash on the Prophet every time he passed by his house. One day he failed to show up. The Prophet wondered if the man was sick. He went and knocked at his door. The man answered and was shocked to see the Prophet. The Prophet told him, "I just wanted to see if you are OK." Baffled by the kindness of the Prophet, the man said, "By God, no one would act like you did except a prophet." This man became a Muslim afterward.

This comparison with Mel Gibson is dumb. The Pope gave a lecture where he quoted someone else and some people took offence. OK, but I don't think he really has a record of promoting hatred of Muslims.
Mel Gibson has a strange record of saying things against Jews, because they don't think Jesus is God. I guess his comments against Jews can be extended to Muslims because Muslim don't think Jesus is God.
Jesus (Isa) was a prophet that the people at the time ignored and he was executed by the pagan Roman rulers and their collaborators, like many other prophets and holy people. Unlike semites, most Christian fundamentalists cannot read the Christian Bible and understand it's real meaning. For instance when Pilate asked the Jews if they wanted Jesus the King of the Jews or Barabbas, he was asking do you want this monarch or the "Son of the Father"? The Jews chose the Son of the Father, the child of God. We Semites can read this story for it's real meaning and it is clear that the Jews asked for Isa the prophet. The Christian Bible was not written down and edited until centuries after Jesus' death, and it was written down to support St. Paul's claim that the laws that Jews and Muslims share have no more validity.
Mel Gibson has said that the Jews are to blame for Jesus' death because his form of Christianity hates Jews because they refused to abandon Holy laws given to them and to say that Jesus is God. Mel Gibson's hatred for Jews, is also a hatred for all people who do not share his views, Muslims, Hindu's, Zoroastrians, etc. The Pope has not shown that he hates anyone. This comparison with Mel Gibson is wrong.

A Nazi can apologise all that he may he is still a Nazi Pope or No Pope

The Fascist Nazi’s never went away.

The Catholic Church leaders supported slavery… against blacks

The Catholic Church leaders supported Hitler…against Jews

The Catholic Church leaders today are no different from their predecessors

In their support of their leader THE Pope Rat-zioner in his attack/crusade against a different Semitic tribes the Muslims

If Rat-zioner is considered holy … then he is wholly evil

May you rest in peace Pope John Paul II aka Karol Józef Wojtyła and may God have mercy on you

If he only knew what this new evil traitor and pretender is doing J Paul will be turning in his grave
