Palestine

Lebanon

This is just from Palestine & Lebanon, we have Iraq, Afghanistan left yet.

Because of the pain and suffering which our governments bring upon the people of Palestine, Lebanon, Iraq, Afghanistan radicalization grows within the Muslim Communities around the world. Five years have passed and our world has become even more dangerous, our foreign policy has become filled with the blood of infant children because of our blatant support for Israel mass murder.

We live our lives in fear more than ever. For this to change we must end our support for all those regimes who oppress their country men, their neighbors, and base our foreign policy upon peace, justice and freedom for everyone.

If we achieve that, then we will God Willing live in peace and tranquility, we can grow up our children in a safe and free society. That is what I yearn for my children, and for my children in Palestine, Chechnya, Iraq, Afghanistan.

The US is bewildered by the Muslim world. In Iraq it is primarily Iraqis killing Iraqis, the same in Afganistan. In Lebanon and Palestine there seems to the US a complete inability to eshew violence. Everywhere is chaos.
It's too easy to blame the US for everything. Eventually these people must take responsibility for their own actions and reactions. No Yank told any Iraqi to blow up another bunch of Iraqis. They didn't tell Nasrallah or Hamas to kidnap Israelis.
If the US doesn't care about the Muslim world it's because Muslim don't really care care either, they just want to use the corpses for propoganda purposes.

Who are the "we"? Are we the same ones who danced with joy on on the streets of Gaza on 9/11?

Where are the vigils for Muslim dead! Where is the silence! The reflections of extemism within the community? The questions on how they should tackle it...?

There is got to be something not totally right with the “radicalization growing within the Muslim Communities due to Palestine, Lebanon, Iraq and Afghanistan” argument. How come most all incidents in west involved Pakistanis and not any from the above countries? Are Pakistanis in west more concerned about issues in Palestine, Lebanon, Iraq and Afghanistan than the people of these countries living in the west…or is it something else…radicalisation of some Pakistani mosques perhaps?

Colin Spencer - that library footage has since been discredited. However, even if we take it at face value, do a few people represent 1.5 billion muslims?

If so then do Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson represent all Americans and all christians when they say 9/11 was a well-deserved punishment from God? No, of course not. Get some perspective.

To "Me Again" - also consider that the CIA used the Pakistani ISI as a conduit for transferring money to the Mujahideen in the 80's. I believe they could still be easily manipulating muslim fundamentalist groups in the region for their own benefit. That's why I think it's very important for muslims to join like-minded peaceful groups in this country and not be used to aid neocon propaganda.

And so as a result the people in those pictures deserve what is happening to them?

infact most of these pictures are of children...yes CHILDREN..i doubt many were even alive in 01..so for them to 'dance' in jubilation..

i would like to add that the whole 'palestinians dancing in the street after 9/11' fiasco was proven false..as usual the mainstream press conveniently forgot to report that bit..selective reporting maybe?

as these pictures show, the palestinians have more important things to worry about like trying to stay alive..everyday is like 9/11 there...

grow up and have a little heart.

We know they are not Americans but Why didn’t they include the civilians killed in a war that the United States now declares had NOTHING to do with.Iit’s Prejudice and bigotry has become manifestly visible in its political and popular culture and America asks the question, over and over again, “why does everyone hate us?” with the naiveté of a child. And yet openly hold an Ideology of hostilities towards Muslims and Islam.

Colin Spencer - The media is very selective about its reporting as you know. This may be unpalatable, but there were alot of ordinary non-Muslim people around the world who were openly 'joyous' on 9/11; Mainly people in developing countries who have felt the full force of American economic oppression, or military aggression, covertly or overtly: I can name Mexico, Serbia, as well as several South American and African nations. Ask international charity workers around the world what they saw on 9/11, and you may be surprised. The reason the USA has never really asked 'Why?' about the events of 9/11, is because a century of oppressive US foreign policies and CIA activity, has created a trans-national, trans-cultural wave of anti-Americanism due to the suffering of millions of innocent people.

To Shazy - Your comment completely negates America's disastrous role in the region. If America is 'bewildered' by conflict in the Middle East, the US should stop invading Muslim countries, stop killing Muslim civilians, stop selling arms to Israel and other corrupt governments and stop supporting corrupt dictatorships who oppress the Muslim population (oh wait, that's the American government).

It's worth remembering that there was no 'terrorism' within Iraq before the US invasion and both Sunni and Shia were peaceful neighbours and even husband and wife. It is the brutal American-led occupation of Iraq that has pitted Muslim against Muslim, as Iraqis are forced to choose between supporting the corrupt violent American-led occupation and its puppet government, or defending their people and homeland from these belligerent foreign invaders, who have raped, abused, murdered, tortured, abducted and imprisoned their men, women and children, as well as stealing their rich oil supplies and destroying their infrastructure. Iraqis are also 'bewildered' by the more than $20 billion of Iraqi capital that has disappeared into the hands of private American companies who were supposed to be rebuilding Iraq. And let's not forget Abu Ghraib, Guantanamo or the numerous 'ghost' prisons that have been built by the US across the Muslim world, where innocent civilians are 'disappeared'. All this only serves to increase tensions and hostilities in the region, and as Muslims know all too well, this corruption is just the tip of the iceberg.

America's wholesale support for Israel's terrorist attacks on Palestine and Lebanon is unjustifiable. Israel, the only country to illegally invade other countries in the Middle East, receives more aid from the US than any other nation, and has never had its nuclear weapons acknowledged, let alone inspected. Israel has over 10,000 innocent Lebanese civilians, (men, women and children) incarcerated in its 3rd world prisons, and countless more innocent Palestinians, many who have never been charged let alone given a fair trial. The Israeli government has recently kidnapped half of the Palestinian government with no international outcry. Can you imagine the reaction if the American government suddenly decided to kidnap the Canadian government? The idea is completely preposterous, yet these double standards exist throughout American (and British) foreign policy. Archbishop Desmond Tutu, who campaigned against apartheid in South Africa, has stated that Israel is operating an apartheid state, far worse than he experienced in South Africa.

You only have to look at the history of the CIA to realise how corrupt the heart of American intelligence is: Did you know that the CIA and MI6 overthrew a popular democratically elected government in Iran in 1953 (the only democracy they have had), because the Iranian prime minister wanted to nationalise Iranian oil? And in place of democracy, the 'kind' American government installed the murderous dictatorial Shah. This was before the USA nurtured a special relationship with Saddam Hussein, and countless other oppressive dictators in the region, which has fuelled reactionaries within.

America saying it wants to spread democracy across the Muslim world and 'liberate' the Muslim people is just a sick joke. The aim of the USA is to stir up civil conflict and take control of natural resources wherever it can. To the millions of Muslims who have suffered and continue to suffer from the oppressive outcomes of American foreign policy, this terrible situation is not bewildering at all. It is only the West that is sheltered from this horrific history; The rest of the world knows it only too well.

Observer,
I don't care if the USA suffers. I care if Muslims suffer. All my life I have seen Muslims dying, in Yemen, Palestine, Syria, Iraq, Algeria, Morroco, almost every country. I am tired of the lies and the way that our filthy leaders old and young use us to make themselves seem more important.
For once I would like truth. I am tired of all this talk of war and hate and anger.
I am tired of dishonesty like yours. Your US / Canada is stupid because the US and Canada are not at war and haven't been at war since 1815. This is about Israel and Palestine and they have been fighting each other, hating, for decades.
As for peace between Sunnis and Shias under Sadaam, this is a joke the Baath party would kill and torture anyone, Iraqis lived in fear. Or are you really saying that ignorant Arabs and Muslims only know peace when there is a mruderous dictator?

Assalaamu alaikum Shazy.

My point about Israel is that its behaviour is out of control and constantly in breach of international law. Israel's actions would be inconceivable in the West, yet Israel is portrayed by Western powers and the media as the civilised Westernised victim in the conflict, when in fact it behaves like a barbarian which the USA is financing and arming. Until Israel complies with international law and stops its indiscriminate attacks and invasions, and until Palestinians regain their land and basic human rights, there is going to be conflict.

I agree that leaders of Muslim countries should do more and should stand up to the USA and Israel and serve their people instead of American foreign policy, but they are deeply in the pocket of the USA. As I pointed out, the USA has a history of interfering in political elections and governments in the Middle East and other parts of the world. The USA is very selective about promoting democracy in the Middle East and they are directly propping up a large number of corrupt dictators for their own benefit. They have never tried to remove the corrupt and oppressive leaders of Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the Gulf States or others, because these leaders are more compliant with their foreign policies and their demands for oil.

Saddam was clearly a tyrant and oppressor (and friend of the USA for a long time) but the fact remains that Sunnis and Shias lived peacefully with eachother before the US-led invasion. The USA has brought corruption, civil conflict, chaos, death and destruction in its wake, and the CIA is now actively working in Iraq and other countries in the Middle East. Muslims do not need or want American invasions to free them from oppressive dictators, especially when those invasions come with everything I listed in my previous post. Wasalaam.

Shazy, You have ignored the points made by Observer, Saddam Hussein and other dictators were put in place with the help of the West.
The US has and is committing crimes against its neighbours.
Back in 1973 there was another 9/11,the assassination of The Chilean President Salvador Allende (a Great Man) and put in his place a brutal dictator of the 20th century, Augusto Pinochet.
And also attempts were made to overthrow the president of Venezuela ,Hugo Chavez.

Don’t give- in to the western media WAKE UP. Get out of the coma. They want us to believe all Muslims are bad and Islam is a fascist religion planning to take over the world. It is their excuse of butchery and mass murder.

Read Observers comments again and then do a research; you will be surprised of the fact that he or she is 100% correct.
Thanks Observer.

This is a very frustrating and two faced western policy, whereby one uk soldier who dies during war, gets the headlines and photos plastered all over the media, with 2 minute silences, etc, and the hundreds of thousands of muslims dying in these countries are just passed over as a matter of fact statistic. What made me laugh yesterday watching the news was i think amnesty saying that lebanon was accused of war crimes for targetting israeli civilians, when the number of labanon civilians who died in this war was ten times more than the israelis and at the end of the report, it was briefly mentiones that israel has also been accused of war crimes against lebanon, can you what a big part the media plays in portraying islam and muslims?

An accidental tourist: Quote

Dr Mohammed Shakil Ramzan, hundreds of thousands of muslims are not dying in these countries. The muslims that are dying in Iraq and Afghanistan are in large part (taleban guerillas excepted) dying at the hands of OTHER MUSLIMS. As soon as the brutal, secular government of Saddam was removed the country started to split. It might be right that some countries in the Middle East and Africa are artificial post-colonial constructs with borders drawn by Europeans with little regard to tribal boundaries and historical perspective. However it is Sunnis and Shias shooting each other and bombing each other in Iraq, it was the Muslim Saddam who drained the marshes and gassed his own people.

Israel may have nuclear weapons, then again so does Pakistan, Iran is different as it is ruled by people who want to wipe Israel off the map and drive the Jews into the sea... No one worries about France having Nuclear weapons because Chirac doesn't talk about destroying another counrty utterly.

The west have done (and still do) some pretty despicable things in their foreign policies to further there own interests, but Muslims need to take responsibility where it is due.

Amnesty did say that Hezbollah were guilty or war crimes, however that came some weeks after they also said Israel was guilty or war crimes. Stop looking for global conspiracies.
