There is no doubt that we live in a Multi-Faith and Multi Cultural society here in the United Kingdom. We have a number of religions which are undoubtedly, based on good moral conduct. The teachings of all prophets and reformers have maintained, for example that speaking the truth is good, whereas lying is bad, that justice is right and oppression is wrong, and that charity is a virtue and theft an evil act. As with other aspects of Islam, the teachings of the Prophet (SAW) in this regard are comprehensive and complete, the prophet (SAW) has stated that:
But why is it as Muslim’s living in the United Kingdom especially Muslims from Leeds we are not at the forefront fighting against knife crime, gun crime (Aron Watson), environment issue’s, prostitution, drug abuse, children bullying their own mothers, noisy neighbours?. Is it because we are Muslim and that means we should leave all the problems of our society to the people who are none believers? When the Muslims migrated to Abyssinia, and the king negus sent for them and enquired about Islam ja’far Tayyars (RA) answered included the following: “O King! We were ignorant people who worshipped idols, ate dead animals, indulged in evil acts, harmed neighbours, were cruel to each other, and the strong oppressed the weak. Then, there was born amongst us a man who advised us to give up the worshipping of stones, taught us to tell the truth, taught us to stop the blood-shedding, taught us to abandon eating the wealth of the orphans, taught us to help the neighbours. And taught us not to slander chaste women”. Just because some of us do not consider ourselves “British”, just because some of us don’t wish to support England for the World Cup, for them this automatically means that we throw away our deen because we are not British. Let us not fight the crimes relating to drug abuse, and the issue of environmental. Recently in the news a Muslim was attacked; he died on the way to the hospital. Now, since the knife crime has been steadily growing in other communities, the Muslim community didn’t bother to tackle this issue. We thought oh it’s in that community so it doesn’t affect us. Why? “Because it’s not in our community, so it’s not our problem”. If you wish to admit it or not we are part of Britain, we are its citizen’s and we are part and parcel of this society. What effects one community will affects us all in the long run. The effect of anti-Semitism against the Jewish and Arab community no doubt come upon the Muslim Community as we can see the BNP are on the rise due to the lack of dawah amidst our community. I’m not going to deny it as it’s the truth that within this society there is evil, there is falsehood being spread against the weak, there is corruption, there is crime. But then again in this society we have a right to hold our councillor’s to account, our MP’s to account, our Doctors to account, our Police to account and above all there is a right for us Muslim’s to practice our way of life and yes we have the power to rise up and challenge these appalling actions by a few within our communities. Islam is a way of life which asks us to be at the forefront to fight crime in our communities, to fight for justice, to fight for truth and to fight for accountability of our leaders, isn’t that what Islam is? How long will we keep our Community to ourselves and not share the common value’s of Islam with our neighbours, our MP, our Councillors our Police officers who keep our community safe from crime? I’ll tell you how long it will take. It will take a few months until you are the receiving end of the crime. That’s when our community will wake up. Let me ask, would any Muslims be willing to go and fight in Iraq for Britain? If NO then you are not BRITISH enough! Would any muslim accept that the muslims of Iraq/palestine/Afghanistan dont have a right to resistance? If NO then you are not BRITISH enough! Does any Muslim, (thinking they are BRITISH!) have a desire for Muslim unity, or want western troops removed from the muslim lands or would want to see Shariah in those lands, then i have bad news for you. By bliars definition you are the enemy, the extremist element of this society. Wake up oh Muslims, stop trying to convince everyone that you are BRITISH. It is not the British identity which makes us strong, but rather it is our Islamic identity which is our strength. It is by following & holding onto the Islamic values which will make us the best citizens of this country! If Islamic values and following the Shariah do make people "the best citizens of this country," then by all means lead by example by upholding a love of God and moral standards. NO ONE is stopping you, is it IS a "free world," and frankly much of the "Western world" could use some more morals to counter the media's worship of sensationalism and sex. However, given that certain terrorists have beeen giving a bad name to Islam by blowing people up AND calling themselves Muslim, the Muslim community has the added responsibility by taking action against these actual extremists. Supporting terror as a means of political and societal change is (a) the very definition of terrorism itself, (b) not going to change anything (this is a democracy; lobby your MPs like everybody else), and (c) making it seem to non-Muslims that Islam is a violent and intolerant religion, as opposed to a strong faith to be admired and learned from.Ask some non-Muslims what they think of Blair's international policy (note: it's Muslims vs. Muslims in Iraq too), and you might find you share more in common with your fellow "BRITISH" citizens than you think. Quite frankly, people should ignore such racist views and don't give them any credibility by engaging with such views. Dhillul you really do show your hatred of this country so much .If you were born here you are British wether you like it or not .Just what would make people like you happy ? Possibly complete dhimmification Britian ? Maybe it would. The best citizens of this country dont go around advocating ,committing or apologising for terrorism .This is a democratic country and always will but maybe thats not to your liking.Nobody has asked you to lose your islamic values .What other country has been so tolerant of immigrants ,given refuge to thousands of asylum seekers,refugees? But no you make out that this country is the worst possible place for a muslim to live .Just what is it really you hate so much about the British and just why so many muslims come to live here ?

Dear billy,thats quite an intolerant statement dont you think?Simply because i am born here does not mean that i have to support the illegal war in Iraq, the killing of thousands of civilians, the torture & rendition of innocent people.Your statement is exactly the kind of 'forced integration' rhetoric which is demonising the muslim community.Britain prides itself in its multiculturalism,but yet you are not willing to accept that some of us may have different values & beliefs.What is Britishness anyway? As for your statement that this is a democratic country, that is frankly laughable. Much of the non-muslim community have very little faith in this countries democracy, let alone the muslim community! Let me make something clear, it is the actions of this Government which makes Muslims & non muslims angry. This government openly supports dictatorships all over the muslim world claiming to spread freedom & democracy, but supports killing & torture by terrorist states.(Israel,Egypt, Uzbekistan just to name a few). It is only because the West supports these evil regimes, & through its invasion of Iraq & Afghanistan, which has caused many to seek asylum here. Finally, in Blair has demonised & criminalised the legitimate greivances of Muslims and their aspirations for unity, As Extremist and criminal under the new terror laws. Everyone realises that this is a war against the values of Islam. We dont want forced integration. We have our own values, but this does not stop us from being good citizens of this country.

Compare that to the nationalism that democracy fuels. In most places in the UK, there is no sense of society, family, community. Most people don't even say hi to their neighbors. You just have to see the biggest gathering of peace in the world (Hajj the Muslim pilgramage), every year, year after year. Over 2 million people gathering from most countries in the world, and in every colour. No other religion/ideoloy can boast this. This in itself is a sign for people who use their intelligence!

Do you mean the values & culture which have lead to some of the highest rates of murder,rape,peodophilia,gun & knife crime, both at home & abroad in Iraq & elsewhere. Perhaps you should put down your dogma, and pick up a few history books on Islam. Your pride in british nationalism & patriotism is what leads to racism & discrimination. There are many non muslims who put their personal beliefs above their nationalist ideals. So what would you say of them? Are they not good citizens in your opinion?
