Ashamed To Call Myself A Muslim! Print E-mail
Monday, 15 May 2006

When I embraced Islam I felt proud to identify myself as a Muslim; to know that Allaah had enlightened me with the Haq (truth) of Islam was exhilarating. But amongst this beauty all of a sudden my eyes, that had been blind all those years, began to see all the terrible atrocities that Muslims were subjected to world wide. Oppression, murder, rape and torture. Most of which was perpetrated as a consequence of government policy. I thought to myself 'how can the Muslim Ummah see their own being treated this way and turn a blind eye?!

Then I came across MPACUK. Finally I had found some Muslims that cared! I joined MPACUK because at the time I was trying to get help for Muslims being bullied at school.  MPACUK were the only people who would help me, and I learned how much these people care about the Muslim Ummah.  Some of these people have 9-5 jobs and some even longer! They all have families.  But they still find time to help people who can't help themselves even if it means working into the early hours or the morning. By getting involved (as you could!) I was able to do my part to help the Muslim Ummah.

The MPACUK campaigns department have for the last month been working hard to prevent an Islamophobic BBC reporter making a documentary on Interpal, a good Muslim charity who provide food and shelter for the Palestinians.  All that is needed is fifty complaints to start an investigation.  John Ware's last documentory was on the Muslim Council of Britian, and it was so racist that the MCB filed a formal complaint and the BBC recieved angry phone calls from Muslims all over the country.

I find it strange that there are more than two million Muslims residing in the UK but they cannot take five minutes in the day to lodge a formal complaint against a man who wants to disgrace the efforts of hard-working Muslims. Two million Muslims and barley five complaints, now I'm ashamed to call myself a Muslim!

While you're sitting at home living your comfortable life your brothers and sisters are dying.  And I ask you person to person, if you were in the situation where you could die any minute or your family could die or your wife raped and your children kidnapped and there was nothing you could do about it, wouldn't you want someone out there fighting for you wouldn't you want people to be fighting tooth and nail for your family and your rights!

I have done my part in the campaign; MPACUK is working relentlessly to motivate Muslims. MPACUK work day and night to make sure that the rights of muslims around the world are upheld, they work against Islamophobia, and work towards the rights of the Palestinians. But what have you contributed? I personally hold all who read this and do not act upon it to account! YOU HAVE A DUTY as a MUSLIM to help your brothers and sisters in Islam. How long will it take for you to care! Doesn't it say in the Qur'an that Allah (swt) will not change the condition of a people until they change it for themselves!

The smallest change can make the biggest difference.

CALL THE BBC AND COMPLAIN NOW !!!

Please don’t say your ashamed to call your self Muslim, this is accepting defeat. If I may take a moment to say everyone’s level Iman (faith) is different. I find that a lot of people who are born into Islam take it for granted and those who convert are stronger because it has required justification and understanding. The other important factors are not many of the people you talk about have had the opportunity/access to education, are less spiritually aware, have other economical concerns that prevents them from being more active.

What I will point out is to me Islam is about strengthen my Iman, this to me is achieved my not questioning other people’s motivation/intension but by looking at what I can do for them. I am grateful for what I have and let’s see what I can give back to those who are less fortunate them me. No one said being a Muslim is easy, it requires sacrifice and that’s what we will be rewarded on.

You are doing a fantastic job, please don’t loose heart. All those who have registered with MPACUK believe in the same things as you and are fighting the same cause.

Keep at it.

Regards

Hiron
