Thank Channel 4 for Amazing Documentary Print E-mail

MPACUK would like to ask the UK Ummah to thank the Channel 4 show for allowing Academic and Islamic reformer Tariq Ramadan who argued that Islam's future can only be secured by rereading its teachings in the context of the modern world, and that this process is already underway in Europe.

Remember it was the Islamophobic Alliance of Workers Liberty (AWL), Union of Jewish Students and the Labour Students who passed a Motion demanding the withdrawal of respected Muslim academic and intellectual, Professor Tariq Ramadan from the forthcoming European Social Forum.

MPACUK also went head to head with the Political editor of the SUN Newspaper Live on air on the BBC Asian Network, when they crossed the line by attacking one the most forward thinking scholars in the west, and decided to fan the flames of a witch hunt.

Alhamdulillah MPACUK, the first ever Muslim group in the UK to demand and hold to account Mosque leaders for women's rights in the mosques, also took part in this documentary. The MPACUK sister demanded that not only should our 2000+ Mosques provide adequate space and facilities for women, but must also consider having reserved seats for female members of the congregation on the Mosque committee. Muslim women must have equal-decision making roles and an equal platform to serve the Muslim community at large. Women  must be allowed and encouraged to take an active role in Mosque/community affairs and must help create programs for the betterment of the community and for the empowerment of the Muslim Community at large.

It will take 5 minutes to thank them today and make sure that the islamophobia spreaders Union of Jewish Students, Alliance of Workers Liberty (AWL) and the Labour Students do not use this as another session to attack one of the forward thinking scholars in the west.

No-one, outside MPACUK and its followers, has been taken in by Ramadan's program. The true face of Islamic "reform" was illustrated by those imams who quite clearly said that not a word of the Koran could be altered or re-interpreted. At best, its legal pronouncements could be suspended - temporarily. T. Ramadan's brother, Hani, is on record for calling for decapitation and other Islamic punishements to be applied in Europe! In the ensuing uproar, T. Ramadan called for a "moratorium" until Muslim scholars could properly debate the issue. As Muslim scholars are, by and large, extremely conservative, there is not a hope in hell of any "progressive" solution to this conflict between Islam and a secular European civilisation.

Indeed, thabnk the BBC for airing a program that illustrates the vast gulf between Islam and the West. Let us hope more people wake from their slumber.

Sorry MPAC I can't follow this alert after seeing Ajmal Masroor, self promoting Iman, Liberal Democrat and sleeze spokesman, stitch up the Palestinians with his 'suicide bombing condemnation' I just can't congratulate the documentary.

What repulsed me the most was when he spouted of about 'living is harder then dying?'. well Ajmal 'sell the palestinias out for a sandwich' masroor, how would you know? you live in england, and do the celebrity circuit trying to raise your profile as a muslim candidate for the liberal democrats.

If you were a palestinian and saw your father humiliated, your brother imprisioned, your sister killed and your wife have a miscarriage at an israeli checkpoint, then talk about the justification of suicide bombings. And by the way its called 'martyrdom operations' for a start you spineless git, and secondly if you and the muslims in the west wernt such a bunch of sell out 'uncle toms' maybe there would be no need for kids to kill themselves in hopelessness, but then again thats some hope.

i have to agree with bigbadpaki. this program was a mishmash of ideas and drew no conclusions and only made assertions about islam. jumping from 1 town to another opinion to a new country.. what was that all about. mr masroor and mr malik have their heads so stuck up their a.... that they wouldnt know palestian suffering if we stuck them in gaza and bombed them with some F15's, ran over them with american tanks and bulldozed them with catterpillar's. freedom for palestine and a sick bucket for these dirty muslims who would sell their grand mother if they had the chance. MPAC i like what you do but come onnnnnn lets not cozy up to get our faces on tv.

The less about Ajamal Masroor the better! He's a sellout and a fraud. As for MPAC sisters campaining for womans rights, i completely support this, however...correct me if im wrong but did she say women leading women in prayer or men in prayer. The latter is aloud whilst the former is forbidden in Islam.

As for Tarkk Ramadan, hes a sellout too. He was on the program on CH4 'challenge for Islam' and they had the bit of film about a muslim woman in turkey who is a 'model' for a living. Now we all know a 'model' is basically someone who sells images of their body for money! When Mr Ramadan was asked 'do you have a problem with this?' he said 'no, as long as she comfortable in with her conscience its alowed'. If thats not a justification of allowing people to view scantily dressed women i dont know what is. Whats next....!?

If you want to know the future of dodgy Hukms' just lookup what that Sardar guy is saying. May Allah (swa) quide them.

The main problem with this programme is that Tariq Ramadan labelled anyone who disagreed with him as an extremist, literalist and traditionalist. Half of the so-called ijtihad was in fact applying classical principles to texts or reviving classical fiqh maslah. Some of his ideas like questioning the hudood and translating the Qur'aan without the context (in the case of the verse about treatment of disobedient wives) when it suited people and with it (in the case of the verse "slay them wherever you find them" ) are extremely dangerous.

It is not necessary to do the ijtihad Tariq Ramadan is suggesting to understand Islam in our modern times, the application of the Usools of the four madhabbs and researching deeply into our voluminous works of fiqh is sufficient, but people need to get trained and start doing that real hard scholarly work and trust me it's not easy.

The documentary was an absolute disgrace. Tariq Ramadan displayed a woeful disrespect for Islam and Muslims. He insinuated Islam was intrinsically bad and presented himself as some awaited saviour sent to cure Islam of all its ills.

The worst cancers of this Ummah are self-righteous, apologetic, pseudo scholars more commonly known as ‘reformists’. The joke is these innovators are shunned by their communities and treated like dirt by the Zionist Islamophobes they so yearn to please (even Zionist sleaze pot and fifth column parasite Jay was unimpressed).

Poor Tariq. All that butt licking and still not welcome in the ‘land of the perverts and home of the cowardly’.

Thank C4 for 'amazing' doc? LOL

Channel 4 = Islamophobic Zionist Propoganda Machine

MPAC = confused at best. At worst? I’ll leave that to people’s imagination.

This is what the media want for islam to reform, because its natural message is maishallah so powerful. The only way muslims can live is by the revival of the islamic state . Inshallah once that returns muslims can live without any worries. salamz

"We need an Islamic reformation," Deputy Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz confided on the eve of the US invasion of Iraq last year, "and I think there is real hope for one"

Echoing those views one year later, another prominent neo-conservative, Daniel Pipes, the Philadelphia-based Middle East Forum(MEF),recently declared that the "ultimate goal" of the war on terrorism had to be Islam's modernization, or, as he put it, "religion building."

Wow! Wolfowitz,Pipes,Ramazan, Mpac all working for the same goals.
The solution to the Ummah's problems lie in following the deen of allah, NOT changing it. During the time of colonial occupation many 'Tariq Ramzans' came forward with similiar arguments. In areas where the ideology of communism became prevalent, some 'Tariqs' argued for a reformation so that Islam can become compatible with communism. Apologists and callers for false reform will come and go, but the true deen of Allah stay and WILL prevail. Peace to those on the true path

im not suprised that the mothers public affairs comitee are plugging the program. the got a few mins on TV, yipeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! dont get me wrong im very pro to having our sisters included in mosques however i did feel th whole program was a sham! academically highly flawed. it placed superficial arguments which could have been overcome with small pockets of knowledge! I personally believe this documentary did more to support the various action plans of the rand report than actually show islam in its reality!

as for the verses mentioned in the documentary, if you look at the various commentaries of the scholars you shall see a vas world of knowledge out thr! im with brother ismaeel, we need to open ur minds to the scholarship rather than be the ignorant fools who things we are superiror than all other scholars! i wasnt impressed by tariq ramadans efforts of labelling all an extremist except those who are supposedly doing ijtihad for themselves, this notion in its self was advicated by those who were influenced by the masons and zionists!

MPAC come on, im still waiting to be impressed by you!

I was actually disgusted with the Channel 4 programme on Reformation of Islam. Allah (SWT) has given us the best, beautiful perfect and a complete deen, which no one especially those who profess to Islam but by their words appear to be hypocrites like Tariq Ramadan can or will change. We do not want to become like the Christians who also reformed their religion and look at the deviations and lies within.. May Allah (SWT) forgive us all for all our mistakes and Peace and Blessing on our Prophet and his Family.

I see the MPACUK whilst attacking mosques committee have adopted the reformation manifesto of the neo-cons and Christian Zionists. Their plan is to promote reformists like Ramadan and bring confusion to the Ummah. Beware all Muslims of following wolves in sheep's clothing. MPAC are nothing but me firsters who thrive only on self congratulations and self publicity. If it was not bad that they openley attack other Muslims they have now adopted the agenda of Muslims haters. Will MPAC also suggest re-writing the Quran for the 21st Century?

Shame on you ignorant traitors.

They plan and Allah plans....

BTW, Tariq Ramadhan said on a recent Der Spiegel interview in english that Palestine is not an Islamic problem, and that if Muslims wanted to leave Islam, then there should be no problem.
Tariq Ramdhan is nothing more than a 21 st Century version of Jamalud Din Al Afghani.
