WHAT IS MPACUK?

The Muslim Public Affairs Committee began with a handful of individuals on an e-group back in the year 2000 when the Palestinian Intifada began and has grown into a movement with branches across the country and Britain’s biggest Muslim website.

MPACUK is driven by dedicated volunteers with an elected and accountable leadership. It is a not-for-profit organisation dependent upon donations from the public.

MPACUK VISION

Our aim is to empower Muslims to fulfil our Islamic duty to strive for justice.

Muslims will strive for freedom for the Ummah, enabling a revival of Islamic civilisation.

Muslim countries will be free from oppressive regimes, occupation and outside interference, and the rights of all citizens will be safeguarded.

Muslim minorities will be able to live as equal and valued citizens, free to practice their faith and free from discrimination or demonisation.

A secure Muslim Ummah will fulfil its Islamic responsibilities toward Allah’s creation, supporting the universal rights of humanity.

MPACUK are committed to building a movement that will make this vision a reality insh’Allah.

MPACUK CORE PRINCIPLES

MPACUK’s work is defined by 4 core principles:

Reviving the fard (obligation) of Jihad

Jihad means the struggle for justice in the way of Allah, and MPACUK aims to empower Muslims to fulfil this Islamic obligation through intelligent political action to protect the Ummah. We believe that pro-active engagement in mainstream media and politics, as active citizens, is the most effective solution to bring about an ethical foreign policy, defend civil liberties and combat Islamophobia.

Anti-Zionism

MPACUK oppose the racist political ideology of Zionism and aim to counter the influence of the Zionist lobby. Openly available evidence demonstrates a Zionist agenda to dominate the Middle East and push a ‘clash of civilisations’ between Islam and ‘The West’. We therefore believe that anti-Zionism is a strategic priority to counter the greatest and most urgent threat facing the Ummah.

Institutional Revival

We need to follow the example of the Prophet (pbuh) who established the mosque as an active centre of the Ummah’s well-being and protection.

Accountability

MPACUK aim to revive the Islamic principle of accountability to ensure Muslims have the best leadership.

WELCOME TO MPACUK

Assalaamu Alaikum,

In these turbulent times, where we find Muslims being demonised and the Ummah under attack, MPACUK has pioneered a simple effective solution. Our work demonstrates that pro-active engagement in media and politics can produce amazing successes, Alhamdulillah.

Our team works with dedication and passion because where others say ‘there’s nothing we can do’ MPACUK volunteers know there’s nothing we can’t do insh’Allah.

We strongly believe that we need an empowered community, with an educated and accountable mosque leadership. We do not have to be victims. We can live proud and confident in our faith and our identity. But we can only achieve this vision with your help, and we hope the contents of this booklet will inspire you to support this vital work insh’Allah.

Jazak’Allah khair,

WasSalaam,
Zulfi Bukhari, CEO.

WHAT DO OTHERS SAY ABOUT MPACUK?

“MPACUK, in my humble opinion, is an organisation that has a great vision for the Muslims in Britain; a vision that many Muslim Organisations and Centres do not have. MPACUK makes great effort to make this vision a reality through hard-work and commitment. As Imam of Lewisham Islamic Centre I fully support the work of MPACUK and pray that Allah rewards all our brothers and sisters at MPACUK abundantly in this life and the hereafter. I also pray to Allah that HE gives all members of MPACUK the zeal and Iman to do much more for this Blessed Ummah.

Imam Shakeel Begg (Lewisham Islamic Centre)

“I am impressed by the capable and dedicated young people I have met through MPACUK. I think we need stronger and more determined action to challenge the disaster of UK foreign policy, the erosion of civil liberties and the alienation of the Muslim community. MPACUK has a very important part to play”.

Clare Short MP

"MPACUK addresses issues of concern for young Muslims from all backgrounds, encouraging the use of the ballot box to make a change."

Institute of Community Cohesion, Univestities of Warwick, Leicester, Coventry, De Montfort.

"MPACUK has become a growing force among young Muslims"

Time Out Magazine named an MPACUK sister number 17 in their top 100 influential 'movers and shakers' list.

“MPACUK’s approach is based firstly on the need for Muslim community empowerment”

Dr Anthony McRoy, author and researcher on Christian-Muslim relations.

“MPACUK represents a new generation of Muslim activists, with no ties to the social structures of ‘back home’ and even less loyalty to self-serving ‘community leaders’ ”

Faisal Bodi writing in The Guardian

... in contrast there's also a lot of Zionists and Islamophobes who see us as a threat to their agenda:

"Repugnant"

Douglas Murray, author of 'Neoconservatism, why we need it' describes MPACUK in one word (interviewed on Guardian Islamophonic)

The Foreign Secretary, asked by Jeremy Paxman on BBC Election Night Coverage about how he had lost votes because the Iraq war, he blamed MPACUK for mobilising anti-war voters: "There was this egregious organisation called MPAC, Muslim Public Affairs Committee UK, which piled people in from London and elsewhere to put round the most malicious literature"

Jack Straw MP

"MPACUK peddles the usual lies about Israel, and persecutes those who seek to defend Israel"

Melanie Phillips, Daily Mail columnist and author of 'Londonistan - How Britain Is Creating a Terror State Within'

Alhamdulillah, such 'endorsements' from pro-Israeli Islamophobic warmongers prove we're making effective progress!
