Are you anti-Semitic? Do you deny the holocaust?
In a word, NO.
Anti-Semitism demonises a community because of its race or religion. We deplore such acts without reservation. There is no place for such a point of view in society today, anymore than for Islamophobia and other forms of Racism. We go one step further in fighting such discrimination, by asking the government of this country to make such acts illegal.
Furthermore, the attempt at genocide in the Holocaust was amongst the most terrible ordeals perpetuated against a people in History. It involved the systematic slaughter of millions of people, and any Muslim who has illusions about the intentions of the perpetrators of such acts should be well aware that after the Jews, Hitler would have tried to exterminate Muslims. One of our aims is to work with other organisations to ensure that such policies are never implemented again at whatever scale, against any community.
The labels of anti-Semitism and holocaust denial are being placed upon anyone that is critical of Israel by some Zionists. This belittles the sacrifices made by the victims of anti-semitism and by many who seek to keep this world free of tyranny today.
What do you mean by the terms zionism and zionist?
MPACUK understand zionism to be a belief in a Jewish State in at least part
of Biblical Israel, in which Jews regardless of their place of birth could
claim citizenship - this is how the state of Israel currently defines
itself. We use the term zionist to describe those who actively support the
current Israeli state - its policies and its intrinsic racism. It is
completely wrong to suggest that the term zionist is 'code' for Jewish -
many Jews, including some Israelis are not zionists, and many zionists are
not Jewish.
MPACUK support not only an end to the occupation of the West Bank, Gaza and
Jerusalem, but also the Palestinian right of return, and an end to the
second-class citizenship of non-Jews within Israel. However the exact
details of a political solution to achieve peace and justice is not
something we would want to dictate from the outside.
MPACUK support the right of locally born Jews, Christians, Muslims etc to
live in peace and security - we are opposed to all forms of ethnic
cleansing. Infact Jews, Christians and Muslims lived peacefully alongside
each other in Palestine for centuries before the advent of zionism.
