MPACUK: Because Some Of Us Are Mujahids & Mujahidahs Print E-mail

When was the last time you applied for a job?

And how did you prepare, what was your strategy for securing your objective?

If you’re a graduate, you probably spent over 15 years putting yourself through the education system. And the cost? Thousands of pounds. Then came your application. You researched the job market to find a position suited to your abilities and aspirations. Your CV and application form took weeks to prepare before you sent it off. The reward? – money!

You see an opportunity to make money.

And so you hit the Masjid. Praying especially hard, may be even shedding a tear, beseeching Allaah Almighty to make you successful. There’s a house, flash car and holidays to be bought.

Okay, mechanics over time to put theory into practice.

Your prayers have been answered and interview day arrives. So what do you do, sit at home and let the job come to you? Pray thanks to Allaah Almighty? No, you go and put yourself through the interview. You present your case, you show off your skills and qualifications, you jump through all the hoops on the competency sheet being used to assess your suitability.

Why have you never sent off an application, prayed at the Masjid and waited for a job to magic itself out of thin air for you. After all, “never under estimate the power of Dua.”

The answer is because you understand Allaah Almighty when He says in the Quran that He will never change your situation until you change it for yourself. You might put together the best job application in the world, but never will you succeed in securing that dream job until you yourself, take practical action to attend an interview and speak your case.

This is further indication of the signs of Allaah Almighty. These signs are all around you in everything that you do. Including the process of applying for a job.

So let’s recap your strategy:

  1. Put time, effort and money into learning knowledge – educate yourself.
  2. Research and self analysis – the job search process.
  3. Prepare and post off CV – the application process.
  4. Pray for assistance from Allaah – the power of Dua.
  5. Attend the interview – practical action, you are using your brain and limbs!
  6. Job secured – the above five have come together.

Take point [5] above. Can you secure a job without practical action? Would you ever stay at home rather than attend an interview, then say, “It was the Will of Allaah, it was not meant to be.”

Not a chance!

Then why is it so hard for Muslims to apply the same logic to the Ummah? Is any of the above man made law? Of course! Is it haraam? Of course not! Why not? Because this is satisfaction of the nafs! This is about securing material and wordly gains. When we want something for ourselves, we will leave no stone unturned to achieve it. But when we are asked to rise above ourselves and put theory into practical action for the sake of others, silence! Not a finger is lifted. Because we cannot see the tangible benefits for ourselves in the form of money or wordly goods, we turn away.

But at MPACUK we do see the tangible benefit – the benefit of the hereafter. We understand that Dua is powerless without practical action. That declaration of faith is meaningless without heeding that very Message. That Salaah is meaningless if we recite “Guide Us On The Straight Path” – Siratal Mustaqim – then strive not ourselves to take the straight path. That fasting is meaningless unless we understand the suffering of others and do nothing about it. That charity is meaningless unless we invest funds in media and political lobbies. That pilgrimage to the Sanctuary is meaningless unless we resolve to wash away the sins of our silence.

And so we strive as best we can, to put theory into practice. We have stepped into the ring and decided to fight. No we are not scholars. We haven’t perfected our Deen. We don’t all wear long robes, skull caps and beards. We don’t call each other “brother” because we know what true brotherhood requires.

But praise Allaah Almighty, for He has helped us achieve more success than any other Islamic organisation in British history. We have taken on the Jihad and delivered results. We have rocked the establishment, exposed the inaction and shown what can be achieved. All of this, from only ten Mujahidin!
