MPACUK Platform Issues GuideIf you want to guage your prospective Parliamentary candidate, please take a look at the following platform issues document. Hopefully this will provide you all with a barometer on how to vote and how to judge local candidates. Domestic Policy: - Protect Civil Liberties, the presumption of innocence & combat anti-Muslim bias.
- Develop Muslim political engagement via capacity building & partnership working between political parties, Muslim public interest organisations and young Muslims.
- To ensure Mosques are aided in developing teaching programs to understanding democracy and political participation to combat disinfranchised youth turning to extremism.
Foreign Policy: Israel

- Withdrawal of foreign troops at the earliest opportunity.

Former Soviet Block & China - Protection of freedom of religious expression
- Protection from persecution & discrimination.
- No more torture of Muslims in the so called "War Against Terror"

To all our readers, we at MPACUK urge you to present the above platform issues to your prospective parlimentary candidate who is running in the General Elections on 05/05/05. Ask them these 4 questions 1. Why YOU should vote for them and where they stand on the above issues. 2. Have they fulfilled any of these objectives and do they aim to do so over the next four years?
3. What have they done for YOU as a British Muslim over the past four years? 4. Would they be willing to vote against their party whip on these issues?
