One Palestinian boy touches the heart: Again, note what a fuss is being made about the case of the killing of Mohammed al-Dura. Our heart is impervious to the fate of other children who have been killed. Just little Mohammed continues to haunt us.

A former US military chief in Iraq has condemned the current strategy in the conflict, which he warned was "a nightmare with no end in sight". Retired Lt Gen Ricardo Sanchez also labelled US political leaders as "incompetent" and "corrupted". He said they would have faced courts martial for dereliction of duty had they been in the military. The best the US could manage under the current approach in Iraq was to "stave off defeat", Gen Sanchez warned.

US has devised a new scheme to exploit national wealth of countries through declaring them as incompetent to 'protect' vital resources.
This transparent pattern of aggression is well underway in West Africa's oil-rich Gulf of Guinea where the Americans demand onshore basing rights for a naval presence that would 'protect' the region against Nigeria-who shares the possession of waters of the Gulf-in its tentative effort to organize African resistance to the US intrusion.

A 60-year-old Palestinian will begin a case against the UK government in the High Court later when he will say that sales of arms to Israel are illegal. Saleh Hassan, who lives on the West Bank, says his land was confiscated by Israel to make way for its barrier. He claims Israel uses military equipment bought in Britain to repress Palestinians which, he says, violates their human rights.

An impassioned debate over the tight alliance between America and Israel is roiling political circles, sparked by a new book that accuses a powerful "Israel lobby" of distorting American policy and endangering our national security. Building on an article they published last year, John J. Mearsheimer at the University of Chicago and Stephen M. Walt at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard argue in "The Israel Lobby and U.S. Foreign Policy" that Israel exerts far more influence than it should on American politics.

The glorious month of Ramadan has come to an end and the celebration of Eid ul Fitr has arrived. May Allah bless you all and answer our prayers for the coming year. The month has seen a superhuman effort from MPACUK to ensure that the Israeli Blood dates and the Muslim shop keepers who sell them are exposed to their public; we have raised the bar when it comes to lobbying against the increase in terror legislation from 28 days to 56 days and we readied our election teams in preparation of an election being called.

 THE
so-called war on terror has been a "disaster" and British military
policy in Iraq and Afghanistan must be fundamentally changed if
al-Qaeda is to be defeated, a report released today states. The report, by the Oxford Research Group think tank, calls for major
changes in foreign policy and warns of the dangers of military action
against Iran. Iraq has become a training ground for violent jihadists and British and
US forces should withdraw from the country immediately, it adds.

Lauren Booth, a well known British journalist, accepted ITV's invitation to appear on the 6th series of I'm a celebrity Get Me Out of Here! last year, and nominated Interpal as the charity of her choice to receive her share of the proceeds of viewer phone votes. Lauren and 11 other celebrities entered the Australian bush on November 13, 2006, and endured 15 days of discomfort and lack of food. However, it was all worth it when she presented a cheque of over £18,000 to Interpal's Vice-Chairman Dr. Essam Mustafa to benefit poor and needy Palestinians.

A little over 13 years ago I embraced Islam after a protracted period of soul-searching. I was raised an atheist and up until then, I'd led a life largely devoid of religious considerations, employing common-sense 'do as you would be done by' morality in everyday life.

A
UK group launched an ad campaign on Monday aimed at countering negative
stereotypes about Muslims in the wake of the July 7, 2005 suicide

trains showing Muslims in a range of professions, including a
policewoman and the chef Michael Barry, with the slogan “Proud to be a
British Muslim”.

Rumors have been circulating for some time that Archbishop Desmond Tutu was banned by the University of St Thomas in Minnesota because of statements he made that some consider anti-Semitic. Now it's official: winning the Nobel Peace Prize doesn't protect you from charges of anti-Semitism if you criticize Israeli human rights practices.

A Preston councillor was assaulted as he tried to prevent youths from vandalising a shop in his local area. The incident happened around 5.30pm, when Cllr Taalib Shamsuddin, on his way home, spotted a group of vandals daubing graffiti on a shop wall. As the Councillor intervened to stop the gang, he was punched and spat at. The gang, a group of four Asian teenagers, were scrawling abusive language on the shop wall, with disparaging remarks about the shop owner, yet the shop owner was too afraid to contact the police.

Do I have a beard? Check. Do I have a miswaak that is exactly 3.5cm long? Check. Do I consider keeping my trousers above my ankles more important than helping my fellow human being? Check. Alhamdulillah! Now I'm going to Heaven for sure! And shame on any Muslim that doesn't keep a beard/miswaak/trousers at ankle-length. In case you can't tell, I'm being extremely sarcastic. | | Comments closed |

I will pray for your forgiveness. I will pray for your ignorance. I will pray for you in times of misfortune. I will pray for your apathy. I will pray for you when greed overcomes you. I will pray for you when you fill the pockets of my oppressors. I will pray for you when you contribute to my destruction. Will you then pray for me, when those pennies turn into bullets? Will you then pray for me when my family are parted and hidden amongst the rubble? Will you then pray for me when I have no strength to pray for myself? Will you even acknowledge this suffering? I forgive you…but will Allah SWT do the same?

Muslim shops wouldn’t dream of selling Israeli dates, would they? Unfortunately a group of young Muslims discovered just the opposite on the streets of Manchester. The dates in your household which you may be using to break your fasts with, despite being from a Muslim-owned shop, may well be fuelling the Israeli economy!

Alhamdulillah the great blessings of the last 10 days of Ramadan are arriving insh'Allah. Muslims everywhere are striving to increase their worship and the mosques are packed out for Tarawih prayers. Among the verses of the Holy Qur'an we are reciting is this: 'And why should ye not fight in the cause of Allah and of those who, being weak, are ill-treated (and oppressed)?

MPACUK's campaign of ethical buying this Ramadan has reached the ears of the JC. MPACUK have been calling on Muslims and Muslim shops to stop buying and stocking dates produced in Israel. MPACUK have been searching far and wide to check that shops are not selling Israeli dates, as well as alerting the Muslim public to this menace. Most Muslims are unaware that Israeli dates are being sold in Muslim shops and even more are unaware of MPACUK's campaign, but the news has reached the JC!
