The Independent has exposed yet another case of Zionist involvement in scandals relating to the funding of political parties. The diamond dealer who channeled thousands of pounds to Peter Hain's Labour deputy-leadership campaign through a controversial think-tank has a long history of lobbying for Israel. This follows other recent cases: Senior Labour Friends of Israel figures Jon Mendelsohn and David Abrahams were key in the scandal of illegal funding of the Labour party through proxy donors. Lord Levy, an influential Zionist, was at the centre of the recent 'Cash for Honours' affair.

Generalised Masjid bashing again...I knew it was that time of the month, when I saw the courteous terms 'wicked' and 'tyrannical', being used against our brothers, uncles, fathers and grandfathers. When are you crusaders going to have the decency to distinguish and differentiate in these cart blanche defamatory outbursts.

First, as a media watcher, I'm aware that a non-stop onslaught has been in progress against Muslims in the media for the last week or so, with Nazir-Ali's comments constituting but one story. This comes hard on the heels of two apparently Islamophobic murders. As IslamOnline recently reported, some European Muslim leaders feel 2008 could be the 'make or break' year for Muslims. That's my feeling, too.

U.S. President George Bush landed in Israel yesterday on his first
Presidential trip to the country. He participated in a press conference
in Jerusalem with Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert in what both men
termed a “historic” and “monumental” occasion. After listening to both
so-called leaders make their opening comments and fielding questions
from journalists, the only groundbreaking revelation I could register
was that the naiveté of President Bush,

Under current British law, deceased patients can only have their organs removed by having carried an organ donor card or with the permission of a relative, if intent was not previously specified. However, Gordon Brown has recently announced that he is considering the implementation of a system, whereby, it will be easier for doctors to remove organs from deceased patients, without prior consent.

Israel's new ambassador to London is spearheading a new campaign to
make Israel's case more succinctly in the country's media and has vowed
to work more closely with the UK's Jewish communities to do so. As part of a bold new strategy, Ambassador Ron Prosor, who arrived in
the UK in November, wants to focus on media perceptions of Israel. Speaking to The Jerusalem Post, Prosor said: "I want to present the case for Israel wherever we can and put it in context."

The British government Friday finally broke its silence over Israel's reduction of fuel supplies to Palestinians living in Gaza. "The resulting power cuts had left vital infrastructure such as hospitals, schools, water and sewage systems, as well as households, reliant on backup generators," Foreign Secretary David Miliband and International Development Secretary Douglas Alexander said.

Doing its share in fighting
global warming, a mosque and community center in north-east London is
acting to become the first-ever carbon-free Muslim worship place. "In Islam we are obliged to
respect the environment we live in and we have to contribute to natural
resources...We cannot just use them without protecting or preserving them, or trying to add to them...When a tree provides fruit it does not provide fruit for itself, for its own use. It provides fruit for humanity,"

The British Ministry of Defence is glamorising war to recruit young
people into the army and is targeting children as young as seven,
according to a new report. "The literature available to the young glamorises the armed services
but does little to show the dangers recruits may face and even less the
moral dilemmas they may face," author David Gee told The Independent on
Monday, January 7.

Criticism was mounting yesterday over "scaremongering" comments by a
senior Church of England bishop about how parts of Britain had become
no-go areas for non-Muslims. The Bishop of Rochester, the Rt Rev Michael Nazir-Ali, writing in the
Sunday Telegraph, blamed multiculturalism for segregating religious
groups and said non-Muslims faced a hostile reception in places
dominated by the ideology of Islamic radicals.

Jihad is an Arabic word meaning to 'strive or make effort'. It is difficult to understand the concept of Jihad in its entirety, however, in its broader meaning Jihad can be explained as a continuous struggle and sacrifice by Muslims with their energy, wealth and power. Islam is not a passive religion. It requires active participation. It is the basic responsibility of every Muslim to practice, preach, establish what is good and defend against what is bad. Moreover, it is the religious duty of every Muslim to defend against all forms of tyranny and injustice, however significant or insignificant they may be.

A group of Israeli "settlers" torched an historic mosque in the town of
Al-Khader, near Bethlehem, on Tuesday. The settlers used 20 beehives as
fuel for the fire, after stealing the beehives from a Palestinian farm
located near the mosque. The Al-Hamadiyya Mosque is the main center for prayer for most of the
villagers in Al-Khader village, and is believed to be 700 years old.

 Pervez Musharraf,
Pakistan's president, has suggested that Benazir Bhutto's lack of
judgement resulted in her assassination and that the opposition
politician knew about the threats to her life. Musharraf told
reporters summoned to the presidential palace for a news conference on
Thursday that it was Bhutto's decision to greet supporters through the
sunroof of her armoured vehicle that was responsible for her killing.

I used to live few metres away from a mosque. Many years ago the pressures of home, studies and evening classes at the mosque made me fall ill and spent a week in hospital. I was forced to go to the mosque by my parents. When I came out of the hospital I rebelled and never set a foot in that mosque again for years. One day the mosque chairman came to my door step and invited me to a speech. I was very reluctant to accept his invitation.
