Da Vinci Code and Muslims
Tuesday, 23 May 2006

Should Muslims support Catholics demanding a ban on the Da Vinci Code movie? Or should they stay neutral? Well, some Muslim leaders in India and Canada have already issued religious decrees seeking a ban on the movie. In fact, a few Muslim leaders from Bombay went even further threatening violent demonstrations if the movie was released.

UK 'inter-ethnic conflicts'
Monday, 22 May 2006

As three Asian men are found guilty of killing a black man during riots in Birmingham last year, the BBC News website examines what caused two ethnic minority communities to clash.

In recent years Birmingham has been markedly exempt from the racial clashes that have sporadically affected other towns and cities with large ethnic minority populations.

Musab ibn Umayr
Monday, 22 May 2006

Musab ibn Umayr was born and grew up in the lap of affluence and luxury. His rich parents lavished a great deal of care and  attention on him. He wore the most expensive clothes and the most stylish shoes of his time. Yemeni shoes were then  considered to be very elegant and it was his privilege to have the very best of these. As a youth he was admired by the Quraysh not only for his good looks and style but for his intelligence. His elegant bearing  and keen mind endeared him to the Makkan nobility among whom he moved with ease.

Palestine: Democracy Under Siege
Monday, 22 May 2006

Since the Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, was elected by the Palestinian electorate earlier this year, this nascent democracy has ever since been beleaguered and besieged. It’s not Hamas, but rather the democracy which brought Hamas to rule, which has been under siege. Almost entirely, without a single possible exception all the presumed ‘democratic’ states had ironically, opposed it. The very democracy that their very own observers, most notably former President Carter, testified to as full of rightfulness and cleanliness.

Let’s Teach Our Children About Britishness
Thursday, 18 May 2006
Higher Education minister Bill Rammell is expected to announce that all children from the ages of 11-16 will have compulsory teaching of “Core British Values”.  The aim of this is to promote the history of freedom of speech, democracy, civic responsibility and fairness. Before we start to expose the fallacies of the government argument in the interest of a balanced debate it is only fair to portray the objectives they think they will accomplish.

Hadil's mother was baking bread when the shells began to fall around them. She gathered her children and they huddled inside the house for safety.

Israel Must Renounce Violence
Thursday, 18 May 2006

Israeli state violence has the advantage to be condoned by Western (US and EU) governments and ignored or distorted by all mainstream media. Yet, Palestinian self-defence and miniscule retaliations, including resistance to Israel’s illegal occupation is magnified and condemned as “terrorism”.

Rabbi Against Zionism Supports Hamas
Wednesday, 17 May 2006

Following the surprise election of Hamas some weeks ago in the Palestinian territories, the Zionist-influenced world including the US and European Union punished the Palestinian people for deciding to vote for the party of their choice.  With limited funds, Hamas is now paying the real price for abandoning their former means and adopting the political process.  But from an unexpected corner comes some moral support.

Frequently Asked Questions About the 1948 Palestinian Catastrophe, Al-Nakba
Wednesday, 17 May 2006

Al-Nakba (the Catastrophe), or what Israel refers to as the War of Independence, was the war between the Arab armies in Palestine and Jewish forces in 1948. The war, part of which resulted in the independence of the State of Israel, also led to the dispossession of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians from their homes.

Condemning Zionism
Wednesday, 17 May 2006

When we imagine what it has perhaps cost the US to sustain the Palestine/ Israel conflict, the amount imagined is mind-boggling. When we look at Israel today, seeking to ascertain what we got for our money, it is mind blowing, and heart breaking. Perhaps trillions of dollars have made their way from the United States to Israel since 1948 by various routes, and most, if not all of that money has been used to kill Palestinians, to vilify Islam, and to prevent economic, social and political development, while destroying any semblance of modernity that presently exists in the Muslim and Arab world, which is arguably the underlying objective of the Iraq invasion, and also the destruction of Lebanon, and why we are stalking Iran.

Hirsi Ali, Just Another Fraud
Tuesday, 16 May 2006

Giving an Islamophobe more attention than they deserve is perhaps not ideal, but sometimes there is nothing like exposing a liar, cheat and above all a hater of Islam and Muhammad (p). Hirsi Ali, whose real name is Hirsi Magan, fits this bill perfectly.

A Recipe for Peace
Monday, 15 May 2006

A Recipe for Peace (www.arecipeforpeace.com) was founded in 2003 by two former diplomat's daughters who grew up seeing various races and religions dine peacefully together at their parent's tables.  The two founders hope that by funding pairs of young people from traditionally hostile cultures to learn to cook together, this will foster greater understanding and concord between these cultures.  They are also both from the financial industry and feel that giving young people strong vocational skills may also prevent them from feeling disenfranchised and becoming susceptible to more radical and anti-social political rhetoric.

How "Practicing Muslims" Destroyed Islam
Monday, 15 May 2006

For some time we have seen at MPACUK a logic and truth in the Ummah that many dare not speak of, for fear of being denounced as heretic. Yet each day Allah provides for us even greater truths to the argument that has formed in our mind. We have seen our fellow “so called practicing Muslims” follow a faith that is at best nothing more than a set of rituals and rules, much like all bankrupt faiths of the world, we have become a tribe who follow the customs that our priests taught us to follow. They offer the world a faith of harsh rules and no reason.

Ashamed To Call Myself A Muslim!
Monday, 15 May 2006

I find it strange that there are more than two million Muslims residing in the UK but they cannot take five minutes in the day to lodge a formal complaint against a man who wants to disgrace the efforts of hard-working Muslims. Two million Muslims and barley five complaints, now I'm ashamed to call myself a Muslim!

Occupation Through The Eyes Of A Child
Sunday, 14 May 2006

This simple but expressive poem is attempted on the lines of traditional Arabic poetry, i.e. where every line should rhyme (couplets). What is amazing is not only the content and sentiment, but the standard of English and the ability to compress a great deal of ideas into this relatively short piece of verse.
