I have to get this off my chest, as it's been bugging me for the last couple of weeks. Israel has virtually destroyed the infrastructure of Lebanon. Instead of confronting Hezbollah directly (which I think they are afraid to do), they've bombed the civilian areas of Lebanon, hoping the Lebanese and Arabs will turn on Hezbollah. What's interesting is that the Arab world is becoming more united than ever against what Israel, with American support, is doing to the Lebanese.

It is a testament to the Muslim leaders of Derby that they are the only local Leaders in Britain to have taken any real practical action in this crisis. Most Muslim Leaders have been pathetic. What of the so called “student emirs” – can you really name a single student Islamic society that has taken any practical action during this crisis?

PEACEKEEPERS spent six hours begging Israeli commanders to halt multiple air bombings near a United Nations observation post before a missile killed four unarmed observers there, it emerged last night. Israel yesterday suffered its worst day since the Lebanon conflict began when 14 of its soldiers were believed to have been killed in fighting with Hizbullah, a military calamity that could prove to be a turning point in the war. The setback appeared to unnerve Ehud Olmert, Israel's prime minister. Less than a day after he had vowed to fight Hizbullah to the end, he yesterday spoke for a need for a quick end to the conflict.

Totally sickening, just as you thought there was nothing else humiliating these Zionists could do, these sick, disgusting and barbaric group of extremists are now kidnapping the bodies of those who fight against an oppressor who invades their land, seeing their members of their family being blown apart, seeing their little kid head being taken off by shrapnel which are made by America and are being transported by the Tony Blair's war machine cabinet.

The Middle East crisis could no have come at a worse time for MPACUK. We are at the beginning of a total re-structure that would mean that every single town in Britain would have a local MPACUK Team of volunteers in it. All the manpower was being utilised for expansion and not to fight battles. In short we didn’t have the volunteers who were trained enough to kick into action. In this game you get no marks for being slow off the mark, time is everything.

Since the Union of Islamic Courts (UIC) seized control of Mogadishu on 5 June, life in Mogadishu is getting better, and business people are optimistic. If you go around the city and ask people about the changes in Mogadishu, many would first tell you about how things are more secure, however fragile the security may seem. Car drivers and owners tell you they have no fear of robbery because there is no shelter for the perpetrators under the rule of Islamic courts.

In Tel Aviv's Rabin Square on Saturday night, some 2,000 protesters, both Jews and Arabs, held a demonstration against the war, and - unusually in Israel - the country's alliance with the United States. "People curse us and call us whores, but it makes me feel stronger to be with people who believe in peace and want to pursue it," said 41-year-old teacher Ornat Turin.
